Reality or unreality trade proposal

Hello fellow poders here in the mountains of Ky,i got to thinking about a trade proposal that a fellow coworker of mine was talking about. He is a Raider fan and me of course a Lions fan,he asked me if he thought Detroit and Oakland would do something like this on draft day.The Raiders were horrible against the run last year and if the Rams dont take Suh offer Detroit Asomugha and swap first rd picks this year and Detroits first round pick next year. I got to thinking  ithink that is fair value and actually a good ideal then we can draft OL at pick 8 then with pick 34 still get a Dt in Odrick this way with 2 picks we have filled 3 positions.Thoughts fellow Lion fans and happy spring to all.And lastly Lions Superbowl Champs 2013.Come on lets hear your thoughts good or bad.

That is a horrible trade.

We give up the # 2 pick and next years first round pick for Asomugha and the # 8 pick this year? Is this Raider fan Al Davis? And was he on drugs?

Close to fair is Suh for their # 8 and Asomugha. Period. Asomugha has a huge salary too, and the # 8 will not be cheap either.

Personally I would not trade for less than the Raider’s first, second, and third round pick for # 2 [Suh].

+1

that huge salary is why he is still a raider. They would love to shop him for picks but no one is going to accept the back end of that crazy deal.

8th for Nnandi is fair...

if you want the 2nd overall it would be something like…

Nnandi, the 8th, Oaklands 1st next year

2nd overall and our 2nd round pick next year

Have you seen his contract??? No way
2/19/2009: Signed a three-year, $45.3 million contract. The first two years, totaling $28.6 million, are fully guaranteed. Another $4.7 million is available through incentives. To keep Asomugha through 2011, the Raiders must pay him either the franchise number for quarterbacks that year OR $16.875 million, whichever number is greater. – rotorwor

Next if the Lions dont cough up that money. He walks and we dont get our 2011 1st RD pick

cus of his contract. And the fact he could walk after one year.

He cannot be franchised in 2011. It is in his contract. So we could lose our 1st RD pick in 2011 and the player we traded for it. The Raiders have been shopping Asomugha for 2 years now. And still have no takers because of his contract.

He is probably the second best corner in the league

after Darrelle Revis. But still, that’s quite a bit to give up for him.

Not worth it

Even if it was just the #2 pick for Asomugha and the #8 pick….we would be better off drafting Eric Berry, paying him that money, and writing our own contract with our own stipulations (this of course if Suh went #1….if Suh is there at pick 2, I think it is a no brainer for the Lions). To give up 2 first rounders for a player with a huge contract and no way to keep him around, all for a move down in this year’s draft seems awfully one sided in favor of Oakland, who would likely just be looking to dump off Asomugha’s contract.

Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!

This trade had to be written up by a Raiders fan right?

No deal.

You can give us Asomugha, and we will give you the #2 and take your 8th.

No soup for you…you come back —-1 YEAR.

Just give me 25 guys on the last year of their contracts; I'll win a pennant every year....Sparky Anderson

Unreality

I don’t see it happening, especially since any terms we’d accept wouldn’t really be worth it for the Raiders

Yeah I would not want the deal, the contract is insane.

Part of the point of trading out of the #2 overall spot to me is to save some cash to spend on talent elsewhere on the team. Honestly I cant wait until they put in a rookie salary structure based on draft position, similar to basketball. The vets should be making the cash not the rookies. Prove you belong here and earn your stripes before you get the big payday.
