I think I should have left the draft Suh at 2 option out.....

Too easy for the Suh bias to just jump in and make the vote for some people…

Seriously guys…I think it goes without saying that almost ALL of us want the Lions to draft Suh. But is that the most likely scenario?? THAT was my question here.

Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!

If the Rams don't draft Suh than yes that's the most likely scenario

Now if the Rams do draft Suh that’s where all the scenario’s will start to come in, I am 50/50 on the Rams taking Suh, I think they might also be looking at Colt McCoy at the top of the 2nd…

by msivits on Mar 21, 2010 4:39 PM EDT up reply actions

Has there...

been a poll that says that “almost ALL” of the POD fans want Suh? I absolutely want Okung, and I am retroactively ( and still ) angry that Oher was bypassed for Pettigrew. The only way to cement taking Pettigrew would be to take Okung. Other than being teammates in college, they would be a great offensive trench building block. We are going to lose Calvin Johnson if we don’t make him happy. Drafting Suh so that he can turn around every play and see Stafford on his back will not make him happy.

We did a live mock today...

with fans from each team acting as the GM. We were able to get the #2 ranked OG in the third, and Mitch Petrus and others are still available to us in the 4th.

I think we can build the inside this year, hope for improvement from Gosder, and then target an OT with our top 15 pick next year to groom and replace Backus.

Just give me 25 guys on the last year of their contracts; I'll win a pennant every year....Sparky Anderson

Rookie LT's rarely step into that position in year 1 as a starter...

Oher was moved to right tackle as Gaither beat him out at LT. He only played LT when Gaither was hurt. Jason Smith only started a few games at RT after being the top OT (funny enough, nearly identical in size —-within 2 lbs, of Okung).

I don’t want to lose a bunch of games because we have a rookie right tackle. I think it is much easier to bring an OG up to speed than a LT.

damnit cubed

Yes…there has been multiple polls here that said clearly that MOST PODers want us to draft Suh.

1 and 2

seem the most likely

How do you keep a running back out of your secondary? You put up a LEVY.

I voted Scenario six

1. Bradford 2. Suh 3. McCoy 4. Clausen or Okung 5. Berry 6. Okung or Clausen

I don’t see any other players breaking into the top six……….unless KC takes Bulaga instead of Berry. Then Berry falls to Cleveland at # 7.

I honestly

think that we will see a trade with buffalo, a 1st and 5th with a player (lynch)

by IAmGross on Mar 21, 2010 2:54 PM EDT reply actions

i dont think that's a balanced trade

the #2 pick for the #9 and a 5th round? lynch isn’t good enough to start in buffalo, what would be bring to detroit?

In between suspensions

Otherwise its Fred Jackson

IAG, Look at Buffalo's draft history.

In the last twenty-five years, the Bills have only drafted a QB in the first round twice; Jim Kelly and JP Losman. Both of those picks were their second pick in the first round that year. They picked a TE ahead of Kelly and a WR in front of Losman those years. The Bills, under Ralph Wilson, don’t value rookie QBs highly. They draft them in the second or third round or pick up veteran FAs like Flutie, Bledsoe, Holcomb, etc.

If Buffalo takes a QB it may be in the third round. Someone like Jevan Snead or Tim Tebow or Jarrett Brown.

All the Buffalo fans on Buffalo Rumblings are talking about trading down. I asked if there is any possibility that they might trade up. NO. CHANCE.

by NorthLeft12 on Mar 21, 2010 9:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Read the first paragraph of my comment.

And Wilson is notoriously cheap. He will not spend that amount of money on a rookie.

2

but parts of all of them are hard to see

by det32 on Mar 21, 2010 3:33 PM EDT reply actions

Option 4, because it is the only scenario that does not have any trades

It’s hard to predict which team (if any) would trade up, and, given rookie salary demands, plus the fact that a team trading up in the top-5 would likely lose a second-round pick, it’s also very hard to justify moving up.

I would love to trade down from #2, but I don’t know that any team really needs to move up any more than we do.

Tampa Bay, at #3, can take whichever DT is left—Suh or McCoy, maybe have their choice of both. They have their QB in Freeman.

Washington, at #34, can probably take Okung to replace Chris Samuels, or could take Clausen to be their future QB, or could take a playmaker like Berry. They don’t need a QB immediately if they’re going to give Jason Campbell another shot with the new regime.

Kansas City, at #5, could take Okung or Berry, and either would be a very good player for them. Or, they could take Bulaga, who would be a slight reach, but whose positional value justifies the move if Okung is gone. They have their QB in Cassel.

Seattle, at #6, has an outside chance at Okung, or could take Bulaga—either one—to replace Walter Jones. Or, they could take McCoy if he’s available to help on the D-Line, or they could take Clausen if he’s available. They could play Hasselbeck for another few years if they can protect him. They need a QB sooner or later, but they don’t need to give up their second-round pick immediately in this draft to move up for Clausen (who may fall to #6 anyway).

Cleveland has a lot of needs (like most teams that get stuck in the top 10), and they’ll have plenty of playmakers to choose from at #7 (like Joe Haden, maybe Eric Berry), who will come significantly cheaper that somebody they’d give up picks for at #2.

I don’t know, the more I think about each team’s situation, the more it seems they would be perfectly fine to pick whatever talented prospect is available to them when their pick comes up, rather than give up a second-rounder and a ton of salary cap money to move up to get somebody else.

I hope I’m wrong and somebody moves up to #2, giving us extra picks, but I am not betting on it.

Hey that's a timeout, I can play right? yeah, get me--get the F-- Help me up...I can throw the ball if you need me to throw the ball...

Scenario 4

Has us drafting Okung, I think it could be a possibillity, but maybe not if Bradford gets picked first.

by FMFDOC8404 on Mar 22, 2010 12:08 AM EDT up reply actions

I pick scenario #2

I relly do believe that is how it will play out. Ram taking Bradford. And the Lions staying at 2 and taking Suh. Someone will make a play for that #3 pick. With Bradford off the board. Several teams are in need of a franchise QB in a bad way.

by JCruize on Mar 21, 2010 5:31 PM EDT reply actions

Unless we can just discuss it here...

I am going to put up a part 2 in a couple of days, without the option of drafting Suh at pick 2.

I am really curious what everyone thinks is the most likely scenario if Suh goes #1 or we simply pass on him (while I WANT the Lions to draft Suh if he is there, I am becoming more and more worried that we will pass on him).

Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!

by KDawg on Mar 21, 2010 7:26 PM EDT reply actions

I picked Scenario #5 for two reasons..

1. I wanna be different…

2. The only way I can see someone moving up is by only having 1 of the 2 QB’s left and teams becoming edgy about him not falling to them. I could see Seattle or Cleveland making the move.

Scenario 2

But, Scenario 4 could be a reality as well, with or without Bradford being picked at #1. I wouldn’t neccessarily be upset about it either, last year I had wished that Okung would declare early so we could draft him, I think everybody last year was saying that he was miles ahead of last years LT’s. I have faith that our FO can make the right pick (God, that feels wierd saying that), and like last year it might not be the fan favorite, but as they have proven, it doesn’t have to be.

Scenario 6, no trades

Berry at #2.
