What do you guys think about Alex Brown ?
Its being reported here in Chicago that the Bears are set to either trade or release DE Alex Brown. Many in Chicago are not happy about this because he was a solid contributor. He's no superstar but he shows up every Sunday and works HARD. What do you guys think about the Lions throwing their hat into the ring ?
Heres a link to the article, the writer pretty much says what a lot of Bears fans are feeling about this move.

If he's released, sure
But I highly doubt that the Bears would trade him to us, or that we would want to give adequate compensation for a middle of the road, 30 year old DE.
either way take a look
if they let him go or trade i say get him… FA deal should be cheap.. trade via 7th this yr. or next would be ok w/ me
Lions fan for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonders how you produce 8 seasons of below .500 football and mange to keep your job as a gm.. here's 1 man wondering what kind of black mail Millen had on the Ford family.
He's ok
but I can’t understand why everyone seems so anti-Avril. Let the young guy start so we can see what he’s really capable of now that he’s got some actual talent playing alongside him on the line. We’ll never know what he can do if we don’t give him a chance to show us.
We'll have to see if the FO brings him in...

Not coming to Detroit in any case
Wants too much money if released, Bears will not trade in division.

agreed.
i feel like they would be similar contributors.

Give Avril a shot
The guy has done decent in our scheme. The one problem with the scheme was the middle. The ends did their job, it’s the DT’s that failed to get the push they were suppose to.Imagine how many sacks Avril and Hunter would of gotten had the DT’s gotten pressure and QB’s couldnt step up in the pocket. If Williams can get pressure like he did in GB look for Avril and KVB and Hunter to have a good year. Now add Suh to the equation then we have a very dangerous line (thats if we can get him.)
its not the sacks problem with him
He can get to the QB, we know that, but hes terrible against the run…OTs just dominate him in the run game
