Lions Re-Sign Kevin Hobbs

Stay connected for news and updates

Restricted free agent cornerback Kevin Hobbs signed his tender with the Lions back on St. Patrick's Day.  The move went unreported for the last two weeks after slipping through the cracks, but I figured it was better to report it late than never.

Hobbs' tender included only right of first refusal and was worth $1,101,000 for one year.  He was one of two restricted free agents whose tender included only ROFR and no compensation (Daniel Loper was the other).  Altogether the Lions tendered offers with at least ROFR to seven of their nine restricted free agents

Now that we know Hobbs has re-signed with the team, the only restricted free agents who have yet to sign their tenders are offensive guard Dylan Gandy and safeties Daniel Bullocks and Ko Simpson.  Linebacker Cody Spencer was not tendered a contract offer, but he could still be brought back considering Copeland Bryan re-signed with the team after not being tendered.
