Buchanon...

Phillip Buchanon has supposedly been cut according to Profootballtalk.com. I guess I'm kind of disappointed, but more in the sense that I really thought he would come in and be a solid contributor for 2-3 years. I'm glad the Lions aren't accepting mediocre and are willing to accept that it didn't work out.

I guess were going to be targeting CB in free agency and the draft big time now as we pretty much have no one at the position.

I'm disappointed

I wanted to see what Buchanon could do with a better supporting cast.. This feels like Leigh Bodden all over again. Young, relatively talented guy, who we cut for apparently no reason. You’re telling me Eric King is better than him? Anthony Henry?

Not a fan of this move. Also not a fan of the idea to pick up Lito Sheppard.

I was really hoping Phillip would get one more year. I think he could contribute if we had a pass rush. Its a new thing all teams are doing it you get pressure with your lineman instead of the blitz. I hope we chnge are defense to allow this “pass rush”. LOL

i don’t like this. it seemed like his game was improving.

this must be a sign that we will aggressively go after some FA CBs. i don’t think we can count on getting 2 starting CBs in the draft if we are going to go more toward a BPA philosophy. i think CBs need time to develop too—a bit more than the other defensive positions from what i’ve heard.

Rolle, Cromartie, Pacman, Delmas, Berry? i’m just randomly throwing names out there.

Could this be the sign of the Lions 2010 starting cbs are Cromartie and Robinson or Cromartie and Jackson.

Buchanon had the physical skills........

He had the speed to be a man cover CB in this defense. But he lacked the personality of a Delmas. Schwartz wants both. Buchanon might have been our best healthy CB last year, but he wasn’t good enough to keep……..which tells you all you need to know about our CB’s. Upgrades are coming.
