Lions Release Grady Jackson
Just a day after releasing veteran cornerback Phillip Buchanon, the Lions have announced that defensive tackle Grady Jackson has also been released. Jackson was signed almost exactly a year ago and started 13 games in 2009. He appeared in 15 of the Lions' 16 games and had 32 tackles and no sacks.
Considering the team just traded for Corey Williams, this move isn't a very big surprise. The Lions like what they have in the young Sammie Hill, and it looks like Williams was definitely brought in to be a starter. Obviously we will have to wait and see what happens in the draft, but I think somebody like Ndamukong Suh would be a great fit in a rotation with Williams and Hill.

At this point, based strictly on absolute need
Okung or Berry make more sense
if you draft Okung at
2 we are paying 2 guys top LT money. we might as well get Berry and have him overpaid. He’s a freak. not servicable.

+1
And after we see him play, the “overpaid” talk will stop.

Grady
Played pretty well for us last year. The dude’s like 38 years old though so we might as well move on
With people coming and going
I was wondering what you guys thought of Jake Delhomme coming in to be our back up qb. He has nfl experience and i know the interceptions is a problem but he has had some good years to. I personally would like him to come to Detroit cause we need a veteran that can actually play unlike Daunte “Loft the ball short” Culpepper

I don't understand
Your arguing Delhomme will be better than Culpepper, but both have recently been awful and both have had good years in the past. I’d feel better getting someone like a Chad Pennington who is going to come in and not make turnovers, even if it means they don’t make a lot of flashy plays either.

Marc Bulger makes the most sense to me.
Familiar with Linehan and should come cheap.

I like the Bulger Idea

To be fair...
Delhomme’s decline was not traced to a specific injury (Culpepper never recovered from that injury around 05). Though Pennington is probably a better idea, its just that Delhomme would probably be a slight upgrade over Culpepper
Delhome had
Tommy john surgery 2 years ago! it takes a year of rehab to throw again! are you kidding me? iths the same case with both of them.
