Jonathan Wade
I'm sure most of you haven't even heard of him but he will be a 4th year vet out of Tennessee. He has played for the Rams all three season and hasnt played up to his potential. He was drafted in the third round in 07. He has a total of 59 solo tackles and only 2 interceptions. He has played in every game but one, which was during this season. If the Lions do decide to bring him in, I'm sure it will be for depth... but I think if they see something they like he could be more.

Just looked at the story.
At first glance unimpressive. However, some people just need the right circumstances before they can shine. Wade could be one of those people. That said, I’m ambivalent as to whether he comes here or not.
ditto

Less than 6 years would make him RFA.
I believe that would cost use a draft pick. If so, not worth it.
He was cut so we don't need to use a draft pick
I would like to see this guy come to Detroit. I think he would be a solid addition at the nickel spot. St. Louis will never have a good CB because they have no pass rush. I don’t think this guy hasn’t lived up to potential, he’s just been on a horrible team.
Exactly… To comment on on Dr. Sundays post Wade has played in all the games but unfortunately it was mostly on Special Teams which does not allow for interceptions.. His rookie yr he started in one game with a interception, he’s 2nd yr he started in one game with another interception.. This past yr he started in 4 games which he almost intercepted a ball but dropped it, he tipped another ball into Butlers hand for a interception.. He is a player that has gotten a bad deal.. He was drafted as a back up for Hill and when new management came in they decided to play the corner that drafted due to preference of taller corners.. Wade is a player to watch..
We need CBs
He is relatively young, fast, and willing to come here haha. It is unimpressive i would agree since he is going to be used for depth purposes. I think who we have right now is Deangelo Smith, Hafney (guy we signed after the season), and i dont know who else. And Wade was released by the way i believe

Rams have had a bad record of drafting as well
especially the 06 and 07 seasons
The best there is, The best there was, and the best there ever will be - Bret the Hitman hart
so we take players that are released off of a worse team to improve ours?
i guess sometimes you just gotta hope we can try something like this and get lucky on one of them.
agree
Why go to the Rams to improve our team?

Doesnt matter which team they are off of. Why would New England sign a corner that came from a 0-16 team…according to your logic, that signing wouldn’t make any sense either

Maybe an improved Lions pass rush could help
When Wade played for the Rams they were a horrible pass rushing team,he had to cover longer than he should have. If the Lions can get Suh,along with Vanden Bosh,Avril this should help improve Detroit pass rush and help CBs out. I say bring him in. Im guessing we have 4 CBs on the roster now.
You mean the same Bly
That went to the pro-bowl for the Lions and the last good player we have had at the corner position. Your right i soured at him as well, after he wasn’t a lion anymore.
He didn't fit the scheme.
Bly was a good man to man guy but when ol’Roddy came we switched to the Tampa 2 and he wasn’t the same.
BTW, the freakin’ Tampa 2 set our defense back so much. It was exactly the opposite of what Schwartz/Cunningham wanted to do. Now we want big and strong and when they took over all they had was lean and fast.
+1
he would have gone to another if he didn’t have a busted mit with a cast and drop like 5 picks(3 on thanksgiving). Bly wasn’t a top 3 corner but he got turn overs

I don't know!
I’m a little nervous we had a gaping hole at corner so they cut buchanan then let James walk? Not saying I really liked either of them, but I just wish I knew what Mayhew is thinking.
And while we are talking about corners what’s the deal with marlin Jackson he was gonna be good then he blew out his kneee and was released. That is the last thing i’ve heard.
Don’t really care what we do but damn guys find some corners!
Blazing fast, would be a great fit here in this defense........definitely worth a try
However, some people just need the right circumstances before they can shine. Wade could be one of those people.

Mayhew is also a superbowl winning former CB Our FO is definitely qualified to scout d-backs
True, true, and true.
Jonathan Wade is a very fast man cover CB. Chris Houston is also a very fast man cover CB. Is it a coincidence that we may be considering acquiring them? Of course not. Both of these players are CB’s who perfectly FIT what we’re trying to do with Gunther’s blitzing defense.
I talk about how Schwartz wants the right player who fits. Here’s more proof of that, if these rumors are true. Wade fits. Houston fits. Vandenbosch fits. Corey Williams fits. The pieces of the puzzle are falling into place, and they all fit. Things are happening as predicted, and it’s all heading in one direction……….
