Iowa has some decent offensive players too.
Everyone has heard of OT Bryan Bulaga, the highest projected player from Iowa, but take a look at Kyle Calloway too. He is one of the top rated right tackles in this year's draft and spent 2007 as Iowa's starting left tackle. Moved to the right side when Bulaga became a starter.
Dace Richardson, OG - 6'6", 305 lbs. - Although he has had some injury problems which are reflected in his combine performance he has started at left OT and OG on both sides of the line. Like he says, "I'm real aggressive and I just like knocking people down. I have a defensive mentality of playing OL..." Can probably be had in 7th round or as an undrafted free agent.
Dan Doering, OG - 6'6", 302 lbs. started at Left Guard in 2008. Needs more development but could add OL depth. Projected in the 6th - 7th round or as an undrafted free agent.
Tony Moeaki, TE - 6'3", 245 lbs. Despite injuries Tony is probably the best all around TE in the draft this year. Great at in-line blocking he would give the Lions the ability to use two tight end sets. Moeaki had two 30+ yard TDs against Michigan this season and 4 catches for 84 yards against Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl. Needs to work on his durability but still could go as early as the 4th round.
Remember, these guys blocked for the Jets' Shonn Greene when he won the Doak Walker Award in 2008.
Call me crazy, but I'm just saying...
