Sounds about right to me.....

Timmons did not have the year that they expected him to have last year, while larry Foote was a consistent as ever here in Detroit. The Steelers released Fotte because they thought that their 25 year old backup LB could do the job just as well, if not better than larry Foote……sound farmiliar? ;o)

Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!

If Foote had not been injured...

to allow Levy to start and show what he could do… Foote would’ve been resigned by now.

And to add, Pittsburgh is NOT going to give him a huge deal… I’m saying that Detroit should be able to out bid them if they want to.

My guess is still Washington. They’re going to need a leader in the new 3-4 scheme Haslett is putting in.

K

you think Levy is gonna strike out? everyone seems to think he’s gonna be a stud.

by Waitingfortheroar on Mar 9, 2010 1:49 PM EST up reply actions

No

I too think levy is a stud……however, i think it is senseless to release your depth when you are thin everywhere. Plus I think it is short sighted to rely on one player, who was a rookie last year, to step in and do a job as good as a vet like Larry Fotte has year and and year out. I think levy will be better than foote in the long run, barring injury, but for right now, I for one would like the added security that larry can provide…..Christ, he WANTS to be here!

Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!

+1

I just think he’ll go for the money…

by CLF on Mar 9, 2010 1:57 PM EST up reply actions

Sounds about right to me too...

seems like everytime Foote’s name is bought up. He is being linked to a 3-4 defensive playoff contenting team. Maybe he was unsure about Leinart in Arz. If Pittsburg does not work out. I would not be surprized if NE and GB join the mix.

neither is

sexual assault. unless you think every athelete is always innocent just cause he has money.

Its all media right now...

NO charges have even been filed…

Unless you think he’s guilty because he has money.

by CLF on Mar 9, 2010 2:08 PM EST up reply actions

at the

very least he has horrible judgement. motorcycle acciden/ he’s still in court over the last charge/ this new charge. If you defend big ben I think youre crazy. he’s the one who is puting himself in these situations. If I had that kind of money and was still going through a rape charge I would hope I was smart enough to take myself out of those situations completely. He is an idiot for not doing so. thats just my opinion

OKay... let run with this scenario....

You’re a single superbowl winning QB and financially secure… some of your college buddies invite you out on the town, so you go. You’re out having a good time, a bit intoxicated and the little hotty that you’re dancing with pulls you into the bathroom for some extra curricular activities. On your way home from the night out you’re high-fiving your buddies that you got some tang in the John.

Next day you hear on the news that you raped a 20yearold….

I’m try not to develop an opinion…. AT the LEAST until charges are filed.

by CLF on Mar 9, 2010 2:49 PM EST up reply actions

I can see that

the issue I have is that he is proving over a period of time that he isn’t making good decisions. If he’s still in a court case (not criminal but but, a financial one) I would hope he could lay low. it seems reasonable to me. then again I don’t have all that money so I can’t say I would be able to guage myself. I would think I could.

lol

Nice picture…..:o)

I agree….while I think big ben is putting himself in bad positions where he can get into trouble, I also agree that he is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. At the point, everything is speculation.

Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!

True in court of law...

…couldn’t be more wrong in the court of public opinion. Fair or unfair, as an extremely public figure Ben is a target. Having already run in to trouble in this regard, he really should learn to take himself out of these possible scenarios all together. Again, that may not seem fair…but I think he’s more than well compensated for giving up some of the things that many of us take for granted, and regardless…it just goes with the territory.

whats so unfair about having tolive by different rules?

He gets the money, he gets the fame and all pf the perks that come with it. It seems like thats worth not putting yourself in harms way.

i have to agree with Waitingfortheroar here

To give some potentially politically incorrect examples…

Is it legal for someone to walk alone in a bad neighborhood at 2am?…yes
Are you a moron for doing so?…yes

Is it legal to poop on your own kitchen floor?…yes
Are you a moron for doing so?….yes

Is it legal to party at a club and hook up with a 20 year old?….yes
Is a young, rich, high profile NFL quarterback already fighting a similar civil suit in Nevada with a reckless motorcycle crash in his background a moron for doing so?…..YES!!!!

Life’s not fair, deal with it. Ben has more blessings in life than restrictions…take the good with the bad.

Yeah, stupid examples but oh well.

by HoorayForEverything on Mar 9, 2010 4:51 PM EST up reply actions

That's not cool man

Just because I poop on my kitchen floor does NOT make me a moron!

by Kalzilla on Mar 9, 2010 6:25 PM EST up reply actions

That said Hooray.....

He should show a little more common sense, and i think that is what Mushy is saying.

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Roesthlesberger’s name keeps coming up… not a coincidence. I hope he gets caught one of these days. Creep indeed.

exactly...

I can see the whole “he’s rich, young, successful, and famous” but you can say that of about 75% of the NFL, NBA, and NHL, yet I don’t see all kinds of other people getting accused of raping people every six months.

Sounds to me like Ben can’t understand why the 20-year old hottie doesn’t wanna bang in the bathroom, so he uses a little force to get what he wants.

roto
Free agent ILB Larry Foote is said to be seeking a deal similar to the one Scott Fujita recently signed with the Browns.

Fujita received a three-year, $14 million deal with $8 million guaranteed. Foote wouldn’t draw that much money from the Steelers, so he’d have to sign as a clear-cut starter in Arizona or Washington to reach Fujita’s level.
