With the 47th pick of the 2010 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft, the New England Patriots select Arizona tight end Rob Gronkowski.
Here is Quez81's reasoning for the pick:
This is a great pick due to the fact that the Patriots don't have a real threat at TE; they have the aging Alge Crumpler. A solution needs to be found and they find one with Gronkowski. Gronkowski has all the tools to be the next elite TE in the NFL. He can block, is a good route runner, has good size (6'6", 258 lbs.) and has reliable hands. The knock on Gronkowski is he doesn't have a top gear and his back injury that kept him out all of last season. Yeah, I'm taking a huge gamble, but this could pay off huge if he returns to full strength.
