Thursday Notes: One Week Until the Draft
- We are now one week away from the 2010 NFL Draft. Just a reminder: Round one of the draft will get started next Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Rounds two and three will get going at 6 p.m. on Friday. Finally, the last four rounds of the draft will begin on Saturday at 10 a.m.
- Chris Houston wants the Lions to draft a defensive tackle, specifically Ndamukong Suh.
- Florida tight end Aaron Hernandez visited the Lions yesterday.
- South Florida defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul apparently visited the Lions earlier this month.
- The prospect visit tracker will be posted at 1 p.m. this afternoon.
- Bills' running back Marshawn Lynch is not on the trading block.
- Mike Williams has lost a lot of weight and seems to have his head on straight now. Perhaps he can make it in the NFL while playing for Pete Carroll again.
- The Lions are going to hold a press conference this afternoon to talk about the draft.

Agreed
I’m typically not bitter about players that leave here when it doesn’t work out. Mike Williams is the exception. That lazy piece of $#!t should never be allowed to have success in this league, unless it’s for this franchise. Furthermore, the only way he should be allowed to play is if Millen and him square off in the Octagon and only one of them is allowed to leave.

Only if Mike "the Tortoise" Williams is allowed to bring in a baseball bat.......
and a loaded gun. Strike that, he would probably shoot himself in the foot.

Who else is curious about what they're going to say at the press conference?
Based on how this front office works, nothing will be said that would tip their hand (or if they do, I’d be shocked).
I expect standard, “We’ll take the best player available. We want to have competition between our guys and the rookies are going to have a chance to be apart of that competition just like everyone else. Everyone has to earn their spots, yada, yada, yada…”
My two favorite teams are the Tigers and Brewers. Drunk tigers. That sounds about right.

It’s safe to assume that we are going to have a open thred like we did for the first night of FA. It was the most fun I’ve had since last years game threds.Me my extra crunchy Jiff peanut butter and my imaginary family of lions faithful…..
How many lumps you want Doc?
Haha
That was probably the funniest open thread I’ve ever been apart of. We can thank Chicago’s ridiculousness for that.

I'm looking forward to it
