LB depth complete?
Wesley expected to join Lions
By Kevin Seifert Detroit agreed to terms Friday with a free agent cornerback, but it's not the one you are probably thinking of.Veteran Dante Wesley is putting the finishing touches on a two-year contract according to agent Russel Hicks, and will begin participating in the Lions' offseason program Monday.
Wesley has spent seven of his eight NFL seasons with Carolina, and played under new Lions special teams coordinator Danny Crossman when both were with the Panthers. Wesley will have a chance to participate in multiple coverage units, and it's possible he could compete for playing time at cornerback as well.
------------ More sold defense.... now Pacman or OL help before the draft?

truth be told
Marinelli has a reputation in the league as one of the greatest D lineman coach in the NFL thats one of the reason Peppers signed with Chicago

I agree that Marinelli is respected as a position coach...
but Peppers went to Chicago because they offered him an insane amount of money and a huge portion guaranteed.
I doubt he even knew who Marinelli was until after he was signed. He’s not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.
PS> I can live with “respected” and Marinelli in a sentence, but I don’t think I have ever heard “Marinelli” and “Greatest” referred to together before. Unless you mean greatest failure as a head coach. I’ve heard that before. LOL.
Just give me 25 guys on the last year of their contracts; I'll win a pennant every year....Sparky Anderson
I don't know, I am not as up on the media hype of Marinelli
I think the Bears line has regressed since Marinelli went there. I fully expect him to fall on his face as a defensive coordinator this year. I think he is just doing the same things that players in the 80’s did. The game is evolving and it has passed him and the Tampa 2 up. As for Martz, he is too smart and will end up making things too complex to maintain. It will all fall apart on him too. It may take a year or two, or it may happen this year, but mark my words Chicago will self implode with the cast off Detroit coaches. I predict them to be the weakest team in the division soon if not this year.
High risk, high reward
If the receivers and Cutler can grasp Martz’s offense, which I think Cutler can b/c he played in a complex one in denver, then the Bears look like a 10 win team. I don’t think Peppers really brings all that much extra to the table. The fact is, chicago has lots of issues on defense, and no one player, not even peppers, is going to help them make a big turnaround
The beginning of the end of the misery
I agree
Peppers is not even as good as Jared Allen anymore, so I doubt he will make a huge impact in Chicago. I see the Bears struggling this year though, as is typical when a team is trying to learn a new offense…especially one as complex as Mike Martz’s.
Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!
OL
Sims will be the next signing i don’t see Adam Jones being signed until after the draft if they sign him.
When you look for video on him, theres mainly just one play that made his career

I'm sure Follett will teach him a thing or two about how to hit people the right way
Clearly he has the ability to be a big hitter, he just has to go about it within the parameters of the rules and not take cheap shots.

I dont mind some double coverage but the thing with McNabb going to the Rams where we had like 3 or 4 of the exact same topic annoyed me.
the only thing that is annoying me now
is the horrible, horrible drafts people are putting out.
do some research before throwing names out people!
but, it’s fun and it’s something to look at it for the next 18+ days.
