Daniel Bullocks Signs Tender
Buried in a story from the Detroit News is the interesting tidbit that safety Daniel Bullocks finally signed his one-year tender with the Lions. The move means all of the Lions' restricted free agents tendered an offer have signed them. The lone restricted free agent who hasn't rejoined the team is Cody Spencer, who was not tendered an offer.
If Bullocks can get healthy and stay healthy, he has a chance at competing for a starting safety spot. Louis Delmas obviously has one of the safety spots locked down, but the other one is up for grabs at this point, and Bullocks has showed in the past that he can be a pretty good player. Staying healthy is definitely key, though.
Bullocks' one-year deal will be worth $1,176,000 since his tender included original draft compensation.

Good find
Sean, I was beginning to wonder what happened with that. I agree, if he stays healthy he can be a good player for us. Even if it is just for depth, depending on what happens the nex couple days.
+1
I still think we will draft a saftey like Myron Rolle. Daniel has potential to be good but I think det will still look for the guy to play next to Louis.
Louis Delmas is gonna lay the MAC down on your candyass.

i was disappointed to see bullocks career go the way it did, and im glad he’s getting another chance. i hope he can still play, because i think he would be a good compliment to delmas
Bullocks
He was NEVER afraid to ‘stick his nose in there’. Neither am I Ladies.
LMAO....some of the shit you say Dylan cracks me up....and just to be clear you do not have my permission to stick...
your nose in that….

I am looking forward to seeing what he can do.
He came in the league as a hard hitting safety, but his coverage skills have always been a question. He has probably lost a step, which doesn’t bode well for his already lacking cover skills. Yet, I am intrigued to see what he can do, if anything.

The moment he gets hurt again we need to cut our losses with the guy
This annoys me, he is decent when healthy but he’s never friggin healthy. This is the only move that annoys me. I think he is taking up a roster spot from someone who could come in and contribute and be on the field for all 16 games. Watch by week 5 he will be hurt again maybe even in week 4.
He wont make it out of preseason
Maybe not even out of camp

quite possibly...
…the tender was basically an insurance move in case Bullocks still has it. In the case that he does not, I’m fairly certain that Mayhew and Schwartz won’t fear cutting him loose. On the off chance he still has it, the Lions still win.

Nice
yes I am happy to hear this news. I cant remember what it was from but a few weeks ago I read an article where Mayhew said that he just isnt ready to give up on Bullocks yet. I loved watching him play his rookie year and when he was healthy 2 years ago. I think that he will start next to Delmas this season. I dont think that Safety is a glaring need for us anymore
Bullocks can be good hopefully
But I was also impressed with how Ko Simpson played in coverage before he got hurt. If he can come bak healthy I really think he could start opposite Delmas. But I also think Eric King is atleast a suitable nickle back and DeAngelo Smith may have a future in the NFL.

There are going to be some tough cuts in camp
For the first time in a long time we’re going to have to cut some guys with real upside vs cutting guys who suck more than other sucky guys.

I still have some hope for Bullocks
It’s good to see him back.

My memor of Alexander is...
…eminently forgettable. He didn’t have the “What the hell was that” moment (at least none more than anyone else in the secondary), but I can’t recall him having many impact plays either.

I really hope he can stay healthy, I still think he has a lot of talent and can really help out this team.
