With the 65th pick of the 2010 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft, the St. Louis Rams select Ohio State linebacker Thaddeus Gibson.
Here is JazzyBBP's reasoning for the pick:
Gibson is one of the better pure athletes among this year's rush of ends trying to convert to OLB. The natural talent will help his status, even though his ability to read and react is an open question. He is fluid enough to drop into coverage if he can diagnose quickly enough. The Rams' LB corps is thin, and pairing him with fellow Buckeye James Laurinaitis will bring a stability and nastiness missing from the Rams' front 7. There were many options to go with this pick as the Rams have more holes than the Lions, and on my draft board, Gibson is BPA who happens to play a position of need. He sometimes gets fooled on play-actions, but Spags is just the coach to get the most from this prospect.
