With the 12th pick of the 2010 Pride of Detroit Community Mock Draft, the Miami Dolphins select USC safety Taylor Mays.
Here is lionsfan64's reasoning for the pick:
This pick was always a defensive one, but the question was which defensive position. Taylor had a good pro day and has the size the Tuna loves. With needs from the line to the end zone, I went with Mays because with Miami giving up 23 passes for TDs and 40 passes for 25 yards or more last year, it had to be in the secondary. I thought about Dan Williams, the NT from Tennesse, Brandon Graham, the DE/OLB from Michigan and Dez Bryant, the WR from Oklahoma State. All would be good picks and fill team needs, but I just can't get past the stat of 23 TDs and 40 passes for 25 yards or more. Ouch!
