Lions Announce Caleb Campbell, Undrafted Free Agent Signings

With the Lions' rookie orientation (i.e. their rookie minicamp) set to get underway later this afternoon, the team announced that Caleb Campbell and seven undrafted free agents have been signed to deals.  Here is the list of UDFAs that are now members of the Lions:

FB Matt Clapp (Oklahoma)
WR Mike Moore (Georgia)
WR Contrevious Parks (Stephen F. Austin)
TE Richard Dickson (LSU)
DT Robert Callaway (Saginaw Valley State)
CB Aaron Berry (Pittsburgh)
LS Sam Scroggins (West Virginia State)

This list is smaller than the one compiled in the UDFA tracker post, but part of that is because players invited for a tryout are not officially under contract, meaning the Lions aren't going to announce their involvement.  The players originally reported as being invited for a tryout are as follows:

WR Jessie Hester (South Florida)
OT Mike Hicks (Connecticut)
DE Chima Ihekwoaba (Wilfrid Lauurier)
LB John Jacobs (Saginaw Valley State)

Stephen F. Austin wide receiver Contrevious Parks, who has been signed, was not included in the original tracker post.  That leaves us with a difference of three players who were not reported as being tryouts but were not announced as being signed either.  I'd bet that these three players (listed below) were simply invited for a tryout rather than actually signed and there was a miscommunication for the articles about them, but I suppose it's also possible that they went to other teams.

DB Randy Phillips (Miami)

I will try to find out if there is a list of the tryouts, but in the mean time just know that the seven players listed at the top of the post are the only undrafted free agents confirmed to be at the rookie minicamp.
