HUGE SIGNING... SIMS is now a Detroit LION!

Adam_Schefter Another trade filed to ESPN: Seattle traded guard Rob Sims to Detroit. So the Lions improve their offensive line.

per twitter!!!!!!!

YES YES YES... Absolutely the best news today..... Matt Stafford now has protection we all have hoped for.  the even better news,  the Chicago Bears did not get him.... the Lions are getting stronger by the day... HUGE MOVE...  Watch out NFC North... I've love to catch da Bears in the NFC North!   Best offseason in years....  Hell of a job mayhew...  No news on what we gave up.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.  Obvoiusly it was more than what the Bears offered!

He was tendered at 4th round

And we didn’t take him, so I’m assuming it was less than that.

Most of the speculation

made it sound like it was gonna be our fifth rounder. He signed his tender specifically to get the trade done so that the Seahawks could take less then a fourth for him.

I love it

Now, as long as we can pull a couple of starters for our secondary in the draft to go along with Suh, we may actually be looking at a 8-8 team. This is getting so surreal, so many good moves for the Lions in one offseason? Somebody pinch me.

love this trade

if nothing else, it gives them that much more flexibilty draftwise

Sims

This guy seems pretty good for a probable 5th round tender. I can’t imagine we could have done much better. Now I hate all of this trade down discussion. I so want Suh and a stud defensive line. I definitely think we are getting better now. If we can actually stuff the line maybe not having QB’s with 6 seconds to throw will be better help than another safety. After all a line with VB and Suh should stop all of these 15 yard runs and the need for a safety to lead our team in tackles.

You do not need Suh for a stud defensive line.

We could get Hargrove yet and Jared Odrick, Brian Price, Tyson Ahlulu, Terence Cody, and Lamarr Houston are all viable 2nd round tackles that will come in day one and make Hill a backup. In fact, Price and Houston in particular have the potential to out perform Suh and McCoy in the NFL.

AWESOME

great pick pick up for the lions but they will still try to trade the2pick in the draft i think the lions gm wants to make the bigest bang for the buck in this draft . if they stay with the 2pick and draft a dt they only get one player who will be a probowl player . or do tade with a team like buf who wants to move up to take a qb . ifyour the lions gm and buf gives you thier 1rd and a 3rd and 4rd pick for 2pick in this draft in the 1rd you say hell yes beause you can still get a great dt like maybe dan williamas or best ss in the draft earl thomas with the 9pick in the 1rd then use the extra 3rd pick to trade for hardgrove who would add a great de /dt to the deffensiveline and then you still have your 2rdpick to draft a cb like paterrick robinson and you still have your 3rdpick to pickup a rb like ben tate and you still have two 4rdpicks to draft bpa at de/ot/ wr. if your the lions gm you take the heat for not drafting the top 3players on most draft boardes suh berry mccoy to have adraft like this.
