Lions Receive Seventh-Rounder from Seattle for Robert Henderson
In addition to trading for Rob Sims from Seattle, the Lions also traded away defensive end Robert Henderson to the Seahawks. The Lions received a seventh-rounder for Henderson, who as far as I can tell was merely a practice squad player last year. He was signed to the active roster right after the end of the 2009 season, but it looks like the Lions just picked up an extra draft pick for someone who was only on the practice squad last season.
UPDATE: Here are the picks the Lions now have, updated to reflect the latest trade:
Round 1 - #2 (2)
Round 2 - #2 (34)
Round 3 - #2 (66)
Round 4 - #2 (100)
Round 7 - #6 from Seattle (213)
Round 7 - #7 from Cleveland (214)
Round 7 - #48 (255)

good catch Sean
could this be why the 5th made sense.. then we grab a 7th…. not much cost here to get Sims
GO LIONS in 2010! the transformation starts now.. they have much to do.
Per PFT:
Henderson was drafted by the Giants in 2008 but spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve after suffering an ankle injury in the preseason. He was waived by the Giants in 2009, signed briefly to the Jaguars’ practice squad and then acquired by the Lions. He has never played in a regular-season game.
It’s just like Kevin O’Connell last year… Got something for absolutely nothing. Great job.
It's like I used to play Madden on franchise mode
I would scrap the FAs for trade bait and stock up on picks.
Great move
Mayhew gets something for nothing again. I like this guy more and more with every trade.

Quality Guard & a late round pick...
sounds like a great deal for the Lions. If Sims can help out Backus & Raiola on the left side, all is good with this trade.
who the hell is
henderson. i didn’t even know there was a henderson on our team. so this is a 7th FOR FREE. cool. =)

mayhew (MAY - hue)
alt: “mayhews”, “mayhewed”, “mayhewing”
-verb (used without object)
1. To acquire far greater value in draft picks or player talent than one gives up in exchange for player talent or draft picks. The Lions upgraded their offensive line with some successful mayhewing in the Rob Sims trade.
-verb (used with object)
2. To entice one to give up draft pick or player value in exchange for lesser value; to be swindle one out of player talent or draft value. Mr. Jones was mayhewed by the Detroit Lions in the Roy Williams trade.
-noun
3. The act of mayhewing or an instance of mayhewing in an NFL trade. The Lions really pulled a mayhew when they acquired a 10-6 quality talented quarterback for a mere 7th round draft pick.

This is terrible news for all LaGarette Blount and Myron Rolle lovers!!!
No fifth round pick to get that super steal RB or safety.
It seemed everybody’s Lions Mock had one of those two picked in the fifth round. They don’t look so good in the fourth round, do they?
Oh well we got Sims. I have always highly doubted the Lions will do anything resembeling what I think they should do.
Rolle didn't look good in the 7th Round
If he’s too slow for this defensive system in the 5th, he’s still too slow in the 7th.

What the hell happened ?
I go out to do yard work and 4 hours later the Lions are roaring ! Pretty work !
Offensive line strengthened – Nice.
Three seventh rounders – practice squad material.
Four solid top 100 picks to choose from – not bad.
Defensive line, corner back, running back and best available.
As I recall, that roster is still filled with a ton of potential talent also. COMPETITION – implies endeavor to surpass in achievement. Can’t wait, a 53 man roster that instills fear in the " Norris Division " !

Rams released Bulger
As I expected...
Now the question is, “Will the Rams trade for their starting QB in the next 17 days, will they pass on Bradford or Clausen and take Suh in favor of drafting a QB in round 2, or will they draft Bradford #1?”
Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!
I didnt even know we had Henderson on our roster
Why are team just giving the Lions picks for random guys?
The beginning of the end of the misery
I'll take the deal
hell of a deal….. wouldn’t you? free picks…..

Question
When did Mayhew get Jedi mind powers, and why didn’t he use them on Ford to get rid of Millen? I realize that they wouldn’t work on Millen, since he HAS no mind…

Ok, these are not the rec’s we are looking for.
How many lumps you want Doc?
Has anyone looked at our roster lately?
We’re going to be a young team for the most part, and I think a pretty good team.I still think Terrance Taylor has a real good chance to help the middle of the D-line.He looked real good in pre-season last year with the colts they just didn’t have a spot for him. This team is reminding me more and more of those Titans teams Schwartz was with.Special teams and deffense.
Curious to see how Taylor does
The Colts’ Tampa 2 wasn’t a good fit for him. The Panthers only had him for 6 days during the season, so they never really gave him a chance. If he does well we’ll have a nice young backup at DT for starters Sammie Lee Hill and Corey Williams.

Hey! Don't forget Suh or McCoy as a potential starter.
Or do you see them watching our dynamic duo from the sidelines for a year to get the feel of the NFL and learning how to play Defensive Tackle from Corey and Sammie Lee? LOL
Another great FA' signing for the FO.
MAY the SCHWARTZ BE WITH YOU. I just can’t beleave this is the lions FO doing these moves, If I’m dreaming please NO ONE WAKE ME! And you better not put my hand in warm water either…..Evilsmurf! lmao GO get em Mayhew! Can you find us a starting shutdown corner now?
