Lions Release John Madsen

Tight end John Madsen, who was just officially signed by the Lions on Wednesday, was released by the team yesterday. News of Madsen's signing came out on Tuesday, and the Lions' official site reported the signing as happening on Wednesday. Suddenly, just a day later, Madsen once again became free agent.

Such is the life of a player trying to make it in the NFL I suppose, but it's not often that a player is signed and released so suddenly.

he did sign a contract,im sure he still gets something out of the deal..not bad for 1 day.How do u drop a guy after 1 day? he must have done something.

From the sounds of it

The Lions simply needed a body at TE since Pettigrew and Scheffler were out and Dickson isn’t here. Next week the rookies come back, which fills that hole.
