Friday Notes: Tom Lewand Chats Over Lunch With Ndamukong Suh's Agent

  • Although there has been talk that Kevin Smith will start training camp on the PUP list, Jim Schwartz wouldn't be surprised if he was ready to go by then.
  • Tom Lewand had lunch with Roosevelt Barnes, Ndamukong Suh's lead agent. A deal still is not imminent, but at least the two sides are starting to talk.
  • Last season we all got to see just how fiery Jim Schwartz can be on the sidelines, so imagine what he would have done if he had been involved in the Armando Galarraga/Jim Joyce situation earlier this week.
"Oh God, no. I would've been thrown out,'' he said. "I would've caused the Detroit police probably a lot of problems because I wouldn't have gone easily.
Like Schwartz, I would have had a tough time being as classy as Jim Leyland and Armando Galarraga have been throughout this whole mess.
  • Martin Mayhew has no comment on Oshiomogho Atogwe, but Jonathan Wade, his former teammate, shared his thoughts on the free agent safety.
  • Louis Delmas wants to be a leader.

Delmas showed last year

He i a great high energy leader. I belive he will be the center of this defense when its all said and done. Like to see Suh sign early so its out of the way and he can focus soley on the game.

Louis Delmas is gonna lay the MAC down on your candyass
Follett and Suh IN YO FACE!!!

I think Delmas is already a leader

I don’t think you can doubt that.

On Delmas.

I love the way this kid plays, and expect big things from him this year.

Not My page...

But you are right. TONS of links to good game tape. The “Guy” has been breaking down games by Player, he has been concentrating on Levy, Stafford, Pettigrew, Johnson, and Delmas. The thing I like the Best is that he shows a accurate portrayal of the whole game, Highlights, and stuff like Missed Tackles, and Blown Coverages.

I highly recommend anyone to check it out, I’ve also commented on his stuff and Invited him to stop by POD, I would love to have this stuff posted here. But I don’t want to Poach his work. It’s too good!

Thanks for the link

Gave me something to look at this morning at work.
I friggin’ love Delmas. We haven’t had a big-hitting safety like that since Mark Carrier.
I don’t mind him getting flagged and/or fined for big hits (unless the flag comes at a very bad time). Stuff like that makes wide receivers wanna stay off of his side of the field.
Getting inside of your opponents’ heads is worth every penny of those fines.

There's no question Delmas is a leader on defense,

he commands the secondary. Well looks like we have a few things that could draw OJ to the club, Wade being one, grewing up a Lions fan two and playing close to home is another.

I would have loved to see Schwartz go after Joyce...

But Leyland said enough to make the guy cry all night as it was…lol. Schwartz probably would have left him emotionally disturbed!

Bottom line is this…Armando Gallaraga pitched a perfect game. Those of us who saw it, witnessed the 3rd perfect game of the season. I don’t care that the final line said he allowed 1 hit, or that he actually faced 28 batters. We all know that he faced 27 and shut every single one of them down in succession.

Oh you didn't know?? You're ass better CALLLLLLLL SOMEBODY!!!!!
