just saw this
I don’t normally curse on this site but the only thing I can say that accurately describes the Lions rating is BULL SHIT. I’m sorry. We got SOOOO much better than last year it’s ridiculous. I know a lot won’t care about this, but for the madden faithful, this is NOT what we wanted to see. All I have to say is when the season starts, they better adjust the ratings if we even look good, let alone win a few games. I’m pissed.
Detroit SHOULD be rated higher than...
Kansas City
Oakland
St Louis
Cleveland
Buffalo
and maybe TB and Jax as well.
Not Jacksonville, and maybe not KC
I would go with Detroit being ahead of Tampa, Buffalo, Cleveland, STL, and Oakland and having a 70 or a 71 ranking at the beginning of the year

Not too worked up
Hell, weve finished with the #1 and #2 pick in consecutive drafts. Besides, if you play the game how long do you play with the actual original roster?
After this year the ratings will change

For the Oakland haters
Just remember that, while they suck too, they at least have a competent defense. As opposed to us, which has nothing yet.
We haven't really proven anything yet
so you can’t be too upset about this, though I will agree that with all of the moves we’ve made this offseason we should definitely be somewhere in the 70’s. I’ve gotten used to being disrespected by non-Michiganders, so it’s not surprising.
Have to..ugh disagree
Oakland is better than…uhhhh…the detroit lions in some areas but the addition of a competent QB changes everything for them and Seymour and there rookie LB have greatly improved the defense that wasn’t too shabby last year. While we have added alot to are team…It has yet to be proven succesful on either side of the ball.

Ravens I don't think there over rated at all
with the addition of Boldin at WR I see them a serious championship contenders this year…they were very good last year as well the deserve to be a top 5 team I think
Louis Delmas is gonna lay the MAC down on your candyass

Here are my issues with the Ravens being rated 90
The teams below them are Minnesota, Green Bay, Dallas, and New England.
Every one of those teams has a better QB than Flacco. Ray Rice is good but he is not as good as AP. Their Receivers just got better but lets face it, no one knows what Stallworth really will be this year. That being said their receivers are not as good as any of those other teams, not even close IMO. So comparing their offense to teams rated below them I have to wonder how high the guy was when rating the Ravens, or if he lives in the Baltimore area. Secondly every one of those teams has as good or better of a defense too! How can they ALL be rated below the Ravens when they are clearly better teams. The Patriots were top 5 in both offense and defense and the Ravens are better than them? I can understand over rating the Jets based on their playoff run but the Ravens have very little to back up being rated ahead of those other teams. I could see them even with Green Bay, or maybe slightly ahead, but not Minnesota, New England, and Dallas. Just don’t agree with it all 3 of those teams are easily 2 points better than the Ravens if not more.
Better than Flacco
Well who is minn qb? tony romo has won one playoff game if I am not mistaken,,I think with the ravens case Ray Rice is very good but they have Mcclain and Magahee too…AP backup is the unproven toby gerhart, Greenbay has a terrible O line that keeps Aaron rogers on his back, Dallas has alot of WR and running backs but there defense (while good) dosen’t measure up to shuga RAY, Ed reed, T sizzle and company IMO, NE sure tom brady moss and welker make a great team but whos the strating RB? and with no richard seymour on top of that the pass rush and a defense as a hole seem to slump last year. Just how I see it IMO I can only put the vikes a head with favre, Dallass is close but not better GB is behind them based soley on there O line and NE well there not the same patriots everyone remembers thats for sure.

Baltimore is my pick to WIN the super bowl..they are absolutly not over rated IMO
http://cmufootball.blogspot.com/
Eh, I dunno. Their offense is going to be much improved but their defense isn’t nearly as good as it once was. Lewis isn’t the player he once was, although he is still very good. Reed is still great but struggled with injuries, and Suggs was a bit overrated last year. Not too mention their Cb’s aren’t very good. I think they’ll be good but I think the Colts and Jets still have an edge on them.

I hate saying this . . . . . .BUT
Don’t count out the Bengals either. Palmer is one of the better QB’s in the league and he has a descent running game now. And Cinci’s D wasn’t that bad last year either, I think it was closer to the top than the middle but I could be wrong there. Hi Pack man how are you doing????
How many lumps you want Doc?
I really like the Bengals...
I think the AFC North is much like the AFC East…3 teams that are great, but someone has to lose…
Yes, I think Miami is very very good.
http://cmufootball.blogspot.com/
So do I Capitol
I loves me some Michigan QB’s that have a running game. and now he actually has a Head Case. . .I mean a WR. The Phins could easily win the division with a break here or there. Say what you want about that damn Wild Cat Formation, but that team could have won the division last year with a few breaks and they have 2 damn good backs that can run. A better than average front line. 2 dark horse teams in the AFC are the Bengals and the Fin’s.
How many lumps you want Doc?
Yeah, your totally right, and while we’re at it, don’t count out Pittsburgh either. Sure, Ben is out the first 6 games but if Polamalu comes back at 100% this coming season it probably won’t matter.
The whole division is really solid. I like the Bengals a lot though. They signed Antonio Bryant didn’t they? Their defense was great too until it was basically depleted by injuries.
I’ve been good man thanks. How about you?

Apart from the Lions, I think the Texans got under-rated
They should at least be 81-82

I think the Texans are likley to have the best Offense in the NFL this year
and their D is getting better
http://cmufootball.blogspot.com/
You can't be serious
The only elite player on their entire offense is Andre Johnson, so PLEASE explain how you could possibly make such a bold proclamation (and if you toss Matt Schaub’s name into the ring I’m not even gonna dignify you with an answer, he has quite a ways to go to be considered an elite QB).
Owen Daniels is one of the best TEs in the NFL
Schaub lead the league in passing yards last year, Jones will be the #2 this year and Walter would be one of the better #3s in the NFL with that. The running game isn’t horrible plus they added Ben Tate, who a lot of us were high on going into the draft.
Houstons Offense is very very good, top 3 in the whole NFL and anyone one in the top 3 of anything has a chance to be the best depending on luck.
Schaub is very good…look at his stats from last year…first year with everyone healthy.
http://cmufootball.blogspot.com/
He had almost 5k yards passing and 29 TDs...
What book is that not elite in?
http://cmufootball.blogspot.com/
an elite QB
has to play more then one FULL season IMO. Schaub is injury prone. Owen is a great TE though I think there D is much better than the offense though.

Man, if their D was better than their O, they would of gone 14-2

Huh!?
Go look at their offensive and defensive rankings the past couple seasons. Their offense has been top 5 and their defense hasn’t even been top 15.
by packallday555 on Jun 7, 2010 4:26 PM EDT up reply actions
That does seem to happen to D's
When you have Offence’s that score quickly. Look at the Colts and the Pat’s and N.O.’s last year. If you can score at will and you keep your D out there without breathers/long drives to keep them fresh they are going to give up some yards. Heck Pack man your Packers are a prime example of that, an explosive offence and a D that has to play more than half of the game, they are human and they do get tired.
How many lumps you want Doc?
Haha yeah, that’s true. I think our problems were more problems with the secondary and schematic things but there is no doubt fatigue takes it’s toll on the defense for quick strike teams.

We are not talking the past couple season..
Look at last year…and this year will be better.
What have you done for me lately man…

HAHA
Packey…I totally went off without reading..you are supporting my good offense claim. My bad!

Haha yeah, I was confused at first when I read your first post. I thought wait a second, I’m pretty sure I just agreed with him haha.

Houston's offense is very good
no doubt about it, but it’s still a far cry from “best in the NFL”. I guess that’s the only real point I was trying to make. And sorry, with their Offensive Line I don’t think they’re capable of being one of the top 3 offenses in the league. Just because you have weapons doesn’t necessarily mean you’re gonna have a great offense.
Three offenses off the top of my head that are better then Houston: Indianapolis, New England, Minnesota. All have better QB’s, all have better Offensive linemen, all have better weapons. I’m sure if I did some more research I could come up with more.
AHHHHHhhhhhhh
GB;N.O.;Dallas.Close contenders would be Balt;Cinnci;SF;Ariz (before Warner retired);Atl.
