Friday Notes: Jonathan Wade Sets High Expectations For Himself
- Jonathan Wade has already made it known that he wants the Lions to go to the playoffs this upcoming season. Another goal for 2010 he has added to the list is making the Pro Bowl.
"I have some high, high, high goals," Wade said during last month's minicamp. "I'm very, very upset about the way my career has been thus far and I blame it all on me. I'm going to change it. I want to go to the Pro Bowl. I want to be somebody that's spoken highly of."
If Wade can live up to his own expectations, then the Lions' secondary will be much, much better than it has been in quite some time. - In Tom Kowalski's most recent scouting report, he explains that the Lions didn't draft Jason Fox for him to play this season. While it's possible he could get in the mix for the starting job at right tackle if Gosder Cherilus and Jon Jansen don't impress, look for him to be a backup at both tackle positions in 2010.
- Caleb Campbell graduated from the Army yesterday. Hopefully now he can put all of his focus on football and getting ready for training camp.
- I forgot to mention this before, but Pride of Detroit passed the 5,000,000 pageviews mark earlier this month. Here's to the next 5,000,000 including many more positive memories involving the Lions.

that is why Wade is a Lion.
You gotta love the attitude. Thats what the Lions have been miising during the Millen Era. Players that just dont want to collect a paycheck. But players that want to prove they worth the paycheck.

I like him already. I already knew he had the speed. Now he has the attitude, too. He sounds like Kevin Smith (who’s already ahead of schedule in his rehab, btw). With that combination of talent and drive, Wade has a great chance to be a starter (and maybe a real good starter). I hope he proves himself and impresses us all in camp, preseason, and in the season. Good luck, Jonathan!
Speaking of Jonathans……
Is Jason Fox the new Jonathan Scott (former backup LT/RT)? For now, it appears so. We’ll see over the next few years where his ceiling is.
(FYI, my ceiling is at the top of my room)
"We lost!" Delmas yelled at reporters. "What you want? What you got to ask me?"
Delmas stared at reporters defiantly.
"That’s what I thought,"
"It's a hard division," Delmas said. "It's very big, but football is football. You've got to strap it up and go out there and play and that's what we plan on doing."

Scott has gone on and started a few games in Buffalo
and seems to be penciled in at RT for the Steelers. I hope Fox can become a NFL starter here.

Only question is...
If he does have such heart, and does have the talent, then why wasn’t he a starter before? Its nice to see some swagger, but play will speak for itself

Ask Kurt Warner or RIch Gannon or any number of players that left one team
and became a pro bowler for another

Randy Moss
As a Viking= pro bowl; as a Raider=washed up; as a Patriot=pro-bowl
How many lumps you want Doc?
That type of Attitude is all over in Detroit.
You got guys that are perdicting wins, playoffs and pro bowl apperances, the tide has changed and the Lions are going to the playoffs this year. We should all be excited when you have more than one person displaying this winning attitude, Wade is like the 4th guy to come out and say the word playoff in this tone.

Nietzsche reader, huh?
“After coming into contact with a religious man I always feel I must wash my hands.” Great guy. You do know he went insane, right?
I better, I also know a lot happened in between then. And I know beliefs are beliefs, and that it’s not fair to judge someone on how they end up.

Also, congrats Sean. Nice milestone.

the next five will be easy
when the rest of the world suddenly realizes that the Pride is back, we’re a good football team again, and we start bringing home Lombardi trophies.
Any idea where we rank compared to other SBNation pages?
Out of all the ones I’ve seen, I’ve rarely seen as much activity as we have here. The BlessYouBoys Tigers blog has a lot of activity too, but some, such as the PIstons blog, have almost nothing, even during the NBA season.

in OKC they don't know what a computer or calculater is

hey there
I used to live in OKC. Yes, its not a metropolis, but its one of the rising cities in the US, and there are some great people there too, and they difenately know the Thudner. Check the tape against the Lakers…the place was packed.
oh and the inbreds are farther down south (Texas).

It has been more active recently, but earlier in the season I was kind of disappointed to see that there wasn't much commenting going on.

I hope
that Wade gets some help soon! He’s obviously on crack. It’s one thing to enter with pipe dream, blind hope and optimism filled with bravado, and another to be realistically optimistic. My Kool Aid cup is only so deep… and it is pretty deep but c’mon keep it real.
They say some people never go crazy.... what a boring life that must be!!
congrats on the 5 million mark
that’s awesome, very impressive…..I don’t post too often, but am on here all the time to get some quick updates. Keep it up my man
I LOVE my damn Lions, things are on the up, I can feel it
Congrats
I don’t post much either .. But I do account for a lot of page views :)) … keep on checking for updates and news …
It's Detroit
People think we’re hockeytown, but we’d be football city, USA if the Lions weren’t the Lions.
Look at how people follow the Wolverines/Spartans, and that’s just college sports.
congrats on 5 million guys!!!! i love this site i am going to Afghanistan next Sunday and this is the place i come to keep up on my lions. thanks for doing a great job they just dont play lions games over there
