Full Lions Madden 2011 ratings released today
http://espn.go.com/videogames/madden11?teamId=19
I was kind of disappointed by how low they dropped some of the guys. Tony Scheffler in particular was a 79 last year but is now down to a 74. Also, in my opinion, Corey Williams should be higher than a 78 as that makes him worse than he was last year as a 3-4 DE.
On the other hand, Dominic Raiola, Jeff Backus, DeAndre Levy and Sammie Hill finally got much deserved boosts from last year.
Eric King got a raise, but I'm not sure why, because he spent the last year either injured or getting torched, he's now tied with Amari Spievey for the 2nd best CB.
Also, Zack Follett with only 75 hit power is a joke (2 less than Jordon Dizon, give me a break!)
What do you guys think? Obviously it's just a game, but it can be informative for how people view and evaluate the talent on the Lions roster from an outside perspective.

Folletts hit should def be higher
I think king must be a joke there’s NO WAY he is better than Houston and that’s not saying much. Spivey I can see with a high potential rating.

madden ratings are dumbanyways
Just get pretty much any outside linebacker and put then as a defencive end and you have yourself a new 99 overall player
The Red Wings will come back stronger
RESTORE THE ROAR 2010 Detroit Lions
LOL
Its funny you should say that. I got vernon gholston off FA moved him to DE. He became the best end in the NFL making every pro bowl after the move.

Just like last year a few guys were added once f\irst roster update came out. I think Fleton and Landen Cohen wernt in the game until 1st update.

Well...
let’s just say they probably didn’t release Toone because the odds of him making the roster aren’t very good. From what I heard he’s a step slower then what the Lions brass thought… he’s gonna have to blow Schwartz and co. away in training camp to make the team.
I know it’s not quite the same, but you can always “create” Timmy Toone Adventures.
I've got this buddy who works for the Cowboys, and he said...
Seriously though, I just read it in an article yesterday, I’m about to go into detective mode and find a link for you.
yea well
well my uncles GF, dads, sisters, son in law, brother works for the lions and toone is pushing CJ for num 1 WR
LOL
Well I know a guy whos sons brothers father in law works for espn..HE knows a guy who use to work for the Lions and has inside sources.

Staff's rating of 80 is good enough for me
I will be using the Lions online regardless of opponent.

Ditto
Feels especially good to beat a playoff caliber team with the Lions. Especially the Cowgirls, everybody likes to use them and cheese the Felix Jones toss play the whole game.

This is the problem with Madden... well, one of the thousands anyway...
Madden’s team ratings are based on the collective ratings of the players, which forces the “ratings gurus” at EA to rate players higher or lower based on the preseason expectations of those teams.
A good example of this has long been the Colts defense. They are always rated far too high to make up for the shortcomings of the game itself. The Colt’s success has everything to do with Peyton Manning and their offensive stars and the game can’t duplicate the success and team ratings on that alone. So they give a guy like Robert Mathis a 98 rating instead of the 89 or so he should receive.
The Lions always get the opposite end of the stick. They suck… so to fully show the magnitude of total suckitude, they have to deflate the ratings of decent players. But just watch… when the Lions start to win a few games this year and the offense really starts rolling, you’ll see the roster updates for the Lions start to really jump to get the team rating higher. They’ll even progress bench players that have little to do with the success. It’s one of the many flaws of Madden that have hampered it’s growth.
Me… I’m loving NCAA ’11 right now.

Way too many drops in NCAA 2011
especially if you are a non BCA team.. wide open drops..
and did you notice that if your opponent online quits before halftime you don’t get a win?
Thats bogus.
On the good side, the run blocking is awesome and the deep ball pass coverage is great!

not sure what I think of NCAA 11...
It’s alright, but I think the locomotion is kind of weird. I like that you don’t have to use speed burst now, but it can come in handy, as in giving you more control as to when you want to speed into a hole or cut around a corner. The pass rush is extremely ineffective, at least compared to prior years. Perhaps that’s more realistic though. Who knows, I know it just makes me want Madden to come out even more, then I won’t play it until around draft time.

I don't play online...
I’m a dynasty guy all the way. Same with Madden… I hate all that online cheeser shit. I strictly play offline franchise.
There are a few flaws with NCAA, but it is a gorgeous game. The biggest issue for me is the big middle-of-the-field magnets the CPU rushers get pulled toward. They have daylight and empty field up the sideline and they immediately turn into a mess of five opponents. It’s a little frustrating. But compared to past NCAA games and even Madden ’10… best next gen football game… IMHO.
like I said
the run blocking is best ive seen ever I think…. the WRs down field, the pulling blockers… pretty nice.

Man you guys are making me jealous
My brother sent me a burned copy in the mail, but it has yet to get here. I’m starting to get really impatient… I might just actually go out and buy the damn thing.
Real quick, does anyone have a good opinion on the new recruiting system? My brother said there’s a new system where you actually talk on the phone with recruits and discuss different topics with them, any thoughts on this? It honestly sounds kind of hokey to me, but he said they pulled it off well.
I like it...
One huge tip…if you wait until you are listed as their number one school to offer the scholarship you got a good chance of getting them to sign on the spot….
As Central, I have gotten about 8 three stars and a 4 star signed during the season, that never happened last year…most signings were after the season.
I like the new recruiting, it takes a little longer but is fun.

How does Jack Williams have such a high injury rating?
I swear they mail some of this shit on on the lower rated dudes….the guy was out all of last year with a devastating injury HAHA
http://cmufootball.blogspot.com/
I think Levy's 75 is a joke
Aaron Curry is a 83. And Clint Sintin is an 71. So basically Levy is closer to a non-starter that had 16 total tackels v. a starter that had 62 tackles. When Levy had 78 tackles.
I wish 2K Sports would put out a football game. Even if it used generic teams and players. I think alot of people would buy it. They could get clever with the team names. Like the Detroit Cougars starting QB is #9 Matt Shackleford. Something like that. I am so tried of Madden.

JCruize... it's all to bring down...
the team’s overall rating. If the correctly rated Levy et al, the team ranking would be higher than a project 2-14 team, or whatever EA thinks we are going to be.
I understand that...its so BS and I am ready to bust out my old Nintendo and Tecmo Bowl

Nobody bought it.
yes I know about that game. And most gamers today feel that it was the best game to date
The problem is that the Madden Franchise is getting shittier each year. I read several reviews that NCAA 11 is a better football game than Madden 11.

NCAA is a pretty damn good game.
If Madden can match it, it will be good… even with no franchise improvements. Gameplay alone would be worth the purchase. But they’ll screw it up….
I bought it
Madden was better..The buttons and gameplay were herendous. Its was only worth using the legends.

My bad. I thought motown was referring to the 2K5 NFL game.
Yeah the All Pro game was not their best work. And They know that.

Outraged
Sanchez ranking 82
Stafford ranking 80
Bradford ranking 80
What is this a joke… how is Sanchez higher than Stafford and how the hell is Bradford equal w Stafford when he never took a snap in the NFL…
I am inclined to agree with Bradfords rating over Sanchez's rating
IMO

Madden rankings are like the Probowl
Its often a year behind reality.
Next year all our guys will be up there.
but i think most are plaers are about right... its players on othere teams that are to high.. 99 need to be harder to get
i think it should all be on a bell curve
the best player at the position should be a 99…
and move backwards from there lol

That's how it used to be
Everyone had ridiculously high ratings. In Madden 09 Anthony Henry was an 86 or 88 overall. In 2010, when they changed the ratings system, he was a 72 with us.
by WestsideLionsFan on Jul 21, 2010 2:04 AM EDT up reply actions
I don't pay all that much attention to the ratings
They are always being amended, and you often can circumvent improper ratings via good play. They’ll be raised up next year anyway.
