Hey guys how has it been going...

Im finally back home and near the computer... I was very active member of POD last season and most of this offseason. Around the end of April as we all know the BP oil spill had begun and I had an oppurtunity to go down and work in the gulf protecting land and wildlife from the oil. Anyways I read a kept up on articles but didnt have the extra time to write a fanshot or make any witty responses to anyone elses. Im very excited to be home and be able to particapate on here again. On to the question I have...

I dont really understand why it would take so much time to sign Suh, I mean, I understand that he is the real deal and that he deserves a good deal being the 2nd pick in the draft. But are we really gonna pay him more than Stafford??? Franchise quarterback gets 42 million guaranteed with a maximum of 72 million. (Bradford is looking at prolly something close or maybe a little more in guaranteed money.) So just use Stafford's contract for a starting point, Suh is gonna be 35 to 40 million guaranteed with whatever you want to do for incentives for as big of number as you want. Im guessing 70-80 million overall with 35-40 million guaranteed. I just dont see the Lions paying Suh more than Stafford so I thought we would have him ready for practice on Saturday but Im going with Monday since it seems like they are waiting for Bradford to sign.

Most people think it's because the Bradford and McCoy deals will determine how much Suh gets paid

And neither of them have signed yet. Anyway, welcome back home and it’s cool that you got to experience something that big and influential first hand. Not that it’s good to have such terrible things happen, but it’s something you’ll be able to tell your grand kids about someday.

Do you think were gonna pay Suh more than Stafford???

I mean we can pump the contracts numbers up with incentives so it would be more than Staffords on paper but guaranteed money he isnt going to get more than Matt. So then its up to him to go perform and get that extra money, I mean there is incentives in there that are ridiculous like special teams play or prolly running a touchdown or something but there are some reachable incentives where he could end up making more than Stafford in the long run.

Ya I saw that...

You would think everyone would be watching everything and doing some better inspections after the beating BP has taken. Like a few years ago when that bridge collapsed in Minn. everywhere people were doing bridge inspections and bridge repairs just struck fear into everyone.

I feel it everyday.

I live in Longbeach, MS. I see the tar balls wasjing up on the beach daily. we lost approximately, every 3 days equalled the Exxon Valdez oil spill. But we had it going on for 2 months. It is miserable down here, but we will prevail like we did after Katrina. I appreciate your help Gy.
