Lions Re-Sign Linebacker Lee Campbell; Jordon Dizon To IR?
John Niyo is reporting that the Lions have re-signed linebacker Lee Campbell.
Campbell was officially released on July 31 (the first day of training camp) in order to make room on the roster for Isaiah Ekejiuba. Originally Campbell was picked up off waivers after the Giants released him back in June. He is in his first year in the league as an undrafted player out of Minnesota.
This move likely means that Jordon Dizon is headed to the injured reserve. The move hasn't been announced just yet, but I would imagine Campbell will be taking Dizon's spot on the roster.

Lee Campbell
Will be interesting to see how he performs on Saturday against the Broncos cause I imagine he will get plenty of playing time to show what he can do.

From Adam Caplan
after he was signed the first time.
Campbell (6-2, 247), out of the University of Minnesota, is known as a tough, physical linebacker, but lacks foot quickness or good coverage skills, an NFL scout said.
He’ll likely compete for a job in back of new starting MLB DeAndre Levy. Campbell’s physical play should fit in well with Detroit’s defense. Keep in mind undersized third-year LB Jordon Dizon was drafted to play in a different defensive scheme (Cover-2), so Campbell could challenge him for a roster spot in training camp. It’s also possible that Campbell competes for a job at SLB because of his size.
Hey Chiefs fan here
D.Johnson and Page could be available, and i think they would rather play for Gunther their old coach, maybe something can be worked out in a trade for a play or a pick.

What is the deal
with Johnson. He was a playamaker until last year. Was it the new scheme or does he just suck now?
Haley likes D.Williams at WILB
D.Williams was our leading tackler last year and played hurt all year, but he’s 100% this year. More than anything i think it was the Scheme change, but i sometimes wonder if D.J and Haley like each other. It doesn’t make any sense to me to keep a play maker like D.J on the bench, but with the scheme change Haley feels like D.Williams is the best player of the two.
Gunther knows how to use D.Johnson, and in the right system D.J is a very good LB and a play maker.

What would you guys think about D.Johnson and J.Page for a 3rd and 4th rd pick next year.

LOL
You get 2 starters who know Gunthers system from the start, for a 3rd and 4th rd picks, that’s not that bad of a trade off to me.

I'll give you...
Gronkowski, Morris, De De, and Northcutt. Any combination, or all 4 of them. The only pick I would be willing to part with is a 7th rounder.
what to do now...
D. Johnson is a good place to start, but with no depth and not much to trade thats worth anything, what do we do? Johnson would be a starter right away but then where? Is there anything out there to be had? so many ?’s and hopefully Scwartz has the answer, because as I look around I dont!
why? part2...
a defensive end/ am I missing something here? unless he can play linebacker whats the point????
