Lions Training Camp Notes: Talking Injuries, Injuries And More Injuries
- Quite a few players missed this morning's practice, including a number of defensive backs, resulting in the last part of this session coming to an early end. The players sidelined were Louis Delmas, Jonathan Wade, Dre Bly, Dante Wesley, Aaron Berry, Ko Simpson and Jack Williams. Randy Phillips also was sidelined early due to dehydration. Some of these players may be able to give it a go this afternoon, but this morning depth was extremely thin in the secondary.
- Wade's injury is a broken finger that he suffered in the Steelers game.
- Delmas did participate in team drills yesterday, so it's possible he simply got the morning session off today to rest.
- DeAndre Levy returned to practice yesterday but sat out the morning session today. He is expected to be on the field this afternoon.
- Mike Moore finally returned to practice on Monday after being out for an extended period of time with a separated shoulder.
- The following players missed Monday's practice: Dre Bly, Dante Wesley, Jack Williams, Aaron Berry, Ko Simpson, Randy Phillips (for personal reasons, not an injury), Jared DeVries, Matt Clapp, Tim Toone and the since-waived Richard Dickson.

Wow
That’s all we need
Just because there is a goalie, doesn't mean you can't score!
What a morning
pretty much sounds like the whole secondary is banged up minus Houston, Phillips, King and Brown. Then at LB we are thin as hell w/ Levy coming back slow and Dizon out for the season right now at depth we have vets who never played but on special teams or UDFA. Schwartz i am tired of saying this but can we please bring in Angelo Crowell now and see if he can help the team also lets look at Rocky Boiman and Shawn Crable. Just for the hell of it can we get Revis too, just taught i’d ask.
CBS reported that Delmas practiced this morning
First-team defenders during 7-on-7 drills: CBs Eric King and Chris Houston; safeties C.C. Brown and Louis Delmas; LBs Zack Follett, DeAndre Levy and Julian Peterson. Lions RapidReports
But as long as he is there is afternoon. And nobody is reporting that he felt any effects from his hamstring injury. It is good news.

that report could have been from yesterday as well
since CBS doesn’t put a time stamp on their reports. I also read that KVB wants to pick up the intensity of the d-line in practice.. A great team leader.

KVB is a beast
He is rapidly becoming the leader and heart of this defensive team. I just wish he had more quality players behind him. He is obviously pushing the Dline because he knows Detroit’s season hinges, at least on wins and losses, on him and his line mates forcing QBs into mistakes to protect that secondary.
Lions fans deserve better than being the laughing stock of the NFL. Lets all hope they are heading in the right direction finally.
I know
we are all, the D-Line played very well. KVB going into practice telling the D-line to turn it up a notch. Not letting the younger players get to proud of themselves and content with them perfomance.

Good news

On a side note did anyone see the 71 yard TD that Marko Mitchell caught the other night?
It was a broken coverage so its not a huge athleticism play but certainly heads up by him and the QB to get it done. I wonder if this guy will actually make the Min roster and with the receivers they have on their team if he does make the roster it is going to make me wonder why we cut him and kept a guy on the decline like Northcutt. In fact the only viable reason I can think of Northcutt for being here is for insurance in the return game, but hell we could ask Desmond Howard to come down out of the booth again and he would do better than these guys.
Secondary
Talk about a postion group we don’t need injuries at, hopefully they are ready to go soon as I don’t know the specifics of each of their injuries.
