Lions Add New Cornerback, Kicker To Roster

The Lions have been busy this week when it comes to making roster moves, and that was the case again today, as a total of four moves were made:

The Lions signed cornerback T.J. Rushing, who had played for the Colts all four years of his career (one of which was spent on injured reserve). He took part in a workout on Tuesday, along with three other cornerbacks, and emerged from the group to help with depth in the secondary.
To make room for Rushing, the Lions waived cornerback Jahi Word-Daniels, who was just signed on Tuesday. He got hurt during his first practice back with the team, and that was all the Lions needed to see. With depth still a concern in the secondary, bringing in a new (and healthy) face was necessary.
Kicker Steven Hauschka was claimed off waivers from the Falcons. He was made 10 of 15 field goals in two seasons with the Ravens (in 2008 and 2009).
With a new kicker coming in, the Lions waived kicker Aaron Pettrey, who missed a field goal against the Steelers.

Once you start to get close to what Schwartz and Mayhew are thinking they do a 180 and start in a new direction. But the way they are only filling 79 spots on the roster tells you something isn’t right.

hmmm… who has those? KC, are you ready to turn the Page? What about a backup mlb? somethin tells me that SLH or some of the WR depth will be changing teams soon.

That was my thought.

He probably feels like he is stepping into a bear trap and its just a matter of time before he gets injured.

The endless injury cloud that seems to loom over our heads. I like this signing, he’s quick & I believe has some return ability. Or @ least on Madden he does, he’s minimal rating, but has good speed & return capabilities, we’ll see how that translates onto the field.

Ok, so I know this is completely irrelevant, and nobody please bust me on this one, but Rushing is the worst cornerback in Madden. Just thought it was an interesting piece of information. Hahahah

if you get injured and then cut after one day how much do you make?

does word daniels get whatever his guarentee was for the entire season? what if he recovers in a month and signs on with another team or even us?
