Lions Reportedly Not Interested In Akin Ayodele
As soon as the Broncos released linebacker Akin Ayodele on Tuesday, a few of you suggested that the Lions should bring him in. After all, depth isn't all that great at linebacker and Ayodele did visit Detroit back in April before eventually signing with Denver.
While the speculation about Ayodele wasn't unwarranted by any means, Tom Kowalski is reporting that it's unlikely he will land with the Lions, as they are apparently not interested.
According to the people I've talked to, the Lions will not be pursuing LB Akin Ayodele, who was released by the Broncos
There has been speculation about the Lions bringing in a veteran linebacker from the second Ernie Sims was traded, but nobody has actually been signed. For now, at least, it looks like that will continue to be the case.

We need some good linebackers....
I’m more worried about our linebackers than our CB’s. I think we’re ok at safety for now. Phillips has been impressive. Having one good safety can also mask the poor play of the other. But with our linebackers, it’s up for grabs. If our defensive front is putting pressure on the QB, they normally dump the ball off, where its the job of linebackers to contain. I’m not impressed with any of ours. Did anyone see Peterson whiff a tackle last week and beat his hands on the ground? I’m sure we’ll se plenty of that this season.
Why would we be interested?
If were going to pick up players we need to pick up guys that will help the team. Akin would not help much at all. Hes never been a very good linebacker. The guys we have now arent that much of a drop from his talents. Also hes pretty much always been a 3-4 LB.
