Cleveland Browns 8/28

After talking to several Browns fans... I had received very little valuable info for this article and decided that the best way to research this was to do it myself.

Many fans talked about their o-line as their strength. And another fan talked about a punt returner (?) running crisp routes. Not sure where his head is.

So after my ever-so-long study session over the Cleveland Browns, I've come up with the conclusion that we should probably just blow over them like dust in the wind... not even a close game. But what should we look for during our rape-fest?

Key Additions: Jake Delhomme, Seneca Wallace, Scott Fujita, Tony Pashos, Benjamin Watson. Rookies: Montario Hardesty, Colt Mccoy, Larry Asante, Shawn Lauvao, T. J. Ward, and Joe Haden.

**Note** This offseason/reg. season is crucial for head coach Eric Mangini, and we'll have to see if he can keep his coaching dreams a reality.

Returning Vets: Brodney Pool, C. J. Mosley, , Eric Barton, Josh Cribbs, Jerome Harrison, Lawrence Vickers, and Chansi Stuckey.

Key Losses: Corey Williams (yessss), Hank Fraley, Jamal Lewis, Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn,

Non- "worry-worts": (These are the guys listed above, but that no one should really worry about.) Safeties shouldn't have to worry about covering the deep-ball because many brown receivers have little to none deep threat. LB's shouldn't have to worry to much about getting penetration to the ball-carrier for a tackle, because our line will keep their's at a stand-still. (This should make it much easier for Zack Follett to read and digest the plays more thoroughly and much quicker also.

Browns Outlook: Long season ahead for Browns fans. It looks like maybe a fast start then quickly fade away. Expect anywhere from 4-7 wins. If Jake Delhomme puts up numbers from when he was #1 in Carolina then he could have a shot at the Comeback Player of the Year Award... though I doubt it.

Ultimately Look For: Jake Delhomme to put up normal numbers and expect them to pass much more than run. Watch Josh Cribbs run shorter slant routes and try to run up his YAC. Browns Defense should be more pass coverage with young safeties and corners but don't let them fool you, their linebackers can tackle.
