What would you like to see?

With two Pre-season games through and two more to go what would you like to see on our Detroit Lions in the last two games? Here is my top five "would like to see" list-

5. Ndamukong Suh get a sack. I love our new Defensive Line, getting pressure almost every other if not every down. Lets see our #2 overall pick lay a quarterback on the turf.

4. The rhythm between Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson continue. Its a beautiful song when Stafford and Johnson connect. Suddenly the signing of Nate Burleson is looking better and better.

3. Jahvid Best score a touchdown. We have seen his electric cutbacks and jukes, now lets see him take one to the house.

2. Some CB step up and be a leader for the defensive backfield. We have seen how weak our defense is when Suh and Vanden Bosch don't get pressure. We have Louis Delmas but with his uncertainty with the groin injury, somebody needs to step up. Whether that be Dre Bly or Jonathan Wade. Anybody.

1. NO INJURIES. Yes, injuries in the pre-season are inevitable. But if we lose anymore starters, especially on defense, its going to be a long year.

What would you like to see? Your top 5?

My top 5 (other than no injuries)

1. Continued pressure from the D line and Avril continuing to take advantage of it.
2. Secondary to actually show up and INT by Houston or Spivey would be nice.
3. Staffords improved play can still improve more completions and TDs.
4. O line no penaltys would be ideal but keeping shaun rogers at bay seems like a good task for them to be measured upon.
5. Derrick Williams to show up with a BIG play as a reciver word has it northcutt will return kicks saturday but Derrick has made it clear to make the roster he won’t be a kick returner.

5-1/2 A WIN! I know its just pre-season but I would like to see us walk away with a victory now if for nothing else but for team confidence.

Drew's Top Five...

1. Jake Delhomme in a full body cast as he leaves Ford Field
2. The Brown’s offensive line gets so intimidated by our defensive line that all five jump offsides at the same time and simply curl up in the fetal position on the ground.
3. The truck containing the WWJ broadcast team is abducted by aliens on route to the game and teleported to Uranus. Hackers broadcast the game via some chick’s iPhone and we finally get decent game film.
4. Vanden Bosch sacks Delhomme so hard it breaks Brett Favre’s ankle in Minnesota.
5. Marissa Miller performing a striptease at halftime.

BTW… if #5 comes true, we can lose 86-0 and I’ll turn the TV off with a smile on my face…

I was wondering when you would post another edition of "They Said It"....

But there is no need now, #25 thru #1 would just be this comment, over and over and over….

Great Shit Drew!

My cinco...

1. Stafford continue to show he can check down
2. Suh get a sack, and make it a damn good one
3. Eric King figure out how to play corner
4. The secondary come together as a unit and make use of the pressure put forth
5. Win and a big one.

If you are pondering, "What am I supposed to do" think the EXACT OPPOSITE thing as Matt Millen is thinking.

My top 5 is pretty close to yours Lionsfan8

No injuries is key, but I wanna see some picks, sacks and TDs from our offence. A comfortable win would be nice.

My 5

1. No one gets injured on either team.
2. Absolutely no uncovered lineman penalties.
3. Zack Follett have a few jarring hits and secure his spot with good over-all play.
4. Delmas in for about 10 plays to get his feet wet.
5. Sorry ya’ll but Marissa will be at my place at half time and pretty much the whole
weekend. So no big returns by the Browns on the special teams is #5

Once in awhile

we gotta hijack a post and put in babes. We’re all a lil tense with the roster shortcomings, figured this would be a good time for everyone to take a deep breath and relax and enjoy some eye-candy. It was Drews idea when he mentioned Marissa.
As for my 5-
1. Lets see Hill or Stanton as the holder for a FG attempt. Maybe try a ST trick play. I think the back-up/3rd string QB should be the holder just for this purpose, not a punter. No offense to Nick Harris, he does a fine job holding, but it’s called SPECIAL TEAMS for a reason, lets try something special. Adds another wrinkle other teams have to prepare for.
2. I’d like to see Suh get a sack, too.
3. I gotta agree, I’d love to see Jahvid Best get in the endzone.
4. If Spievey is going to be moved permanantly to Safety, I want to see alot of reps out of him. Sink or swim, kid.
5. I want all 2nd stringers to step up, offense and defense. S Hill, lead a touchdown drive. The other S Hill, lead a charge to stop a scoring drive…etc.
Great post and thanks for being a good sport with us knuckleheads hijacking it.

Victories

Eh yeah, 5 things I want to see from the game

1) No Injures period, even for the Browns. I hate when players are hurt during the preseason like Avery was for the Rams the other night.

2) I want to see Amari Spievey come out and play like an absolute beast. I want to see him respond well to the obvious gauntlet the coaches have thrown his way.

3) I want to see Suh get a sack.

4) I want to see someone emerge as a clear #3 RB on our roster, don’t really care who it is, I just would like to see this situation resolved.

5) I want to see Delmas and LoJack get some snaps, not many but enough to get their feet wet, 10 or less.

by Evilsmurf on Aug 27, 2010 9:57 PM EDT reply actions

5 Things I want to see

1) It’s Delhome so I’d like to see AT LEAST 2 picks. He can make any secondary look good.

2) Caleb Campbell. Haven’t seen much of him this preseason and would like to see what he is capable of to see if he can add a little bit of depth at LB.

3) Our secondary not look like they belong in the arena league where the field is smaller and coverage is easier.

4) A touchdown from around 50 yards. Though the air or on the ground I don’t care. through the air it can be a screen and run or a 50 + yard “money shot”, it doesnt matter. I just want to see a one play touchdown capability.

5) Tim Toone. Nuff said!

Good Job With The List Lionsfan8

I’d like to add that I echo Jazzy’s sentiments with regards to Spievey. This guy was drafted in the 3rd round for crying out loud. I am v ery disappointed in what I have seen from him so far, so I am hoping that he adapts well to safety. I was really excited when we drafted him, as I thought he may be a sleeper, but have to man up here and admit that he looks out of position so far. It’s way too early to give up on him, so I am hoping to see him look more natural at safety, because so far he looks out of place at CB. Also, I am rooting for our American hero Caleb Campbell, so I would like to see him get some pt at LB and impress. This guy has the kind of determination that should be inspirational to the whole team. I would also like to see some more consistent play out of Derrick Williams. I have high hopes for that guy. Delmas getting some pt finally would be nice, and more pt for Suh and Levy. I’m watching these games on streams and it;s real choppy, but at least I get to watch our boys.
