Serious Question

i havent seen too much conversation about Kevin Smiths future with this team or about his future as a runner. I'm surprised, seeing as it's one of the biggest question marks of the season. i think he is going to be a good complement to Jahvid Best, but never will be the feature back. his ACL injury is concerning, but he is an intriguing player, to say the least. What do you think?

But I think his future in Detroit is doomed unless he has a solid year this year. I like Smith, but Best is much more dangerous.

well done sir

you actually asked a question about a player and kept your dignity well played. LOL now as for kevin jones I think he is a very effective back but injury pro…….wait….As for Kevin Smith I think he’s a very good back to have behind best.

He's that 1 guy

who replaced that other guy, who was suppose to be all that after that other guy kept getting hurt. But then that guy got hurt so we went out and got that other guy, who got hurt, so we drafted this guy, who went out and got hurt. That’s why we drafted that other guy.

Had to rec this....

way to talk in circles. Reminds me of the way my daughter tries to explain things (who has some learning disabilities).

And I am allowed to make comments like that, I’m dealing with it every day and sometimes one just has to laugh or you’ll cry.

OK, now that I’ve brought this thread down….

I love this quote from Sam Gash

"Aaron has speed, great hands; DeDe has great vision and great hands; Jerome has power and good hands; Kevin is more of a slasher with good hands and all of them are very good pass protectors," said Gash."

For all the guys pointing out that Smith is better in the passing game than Brown because he has more avg per catch it just goes to show that some of us look at more than stat lines.

I would also like to point out that Brown was talked about more than any other back in that article ;)

Read between the lines if you want, I know I will since I am on the Brown bandwagon already ;)

Awesome!

trying to increase his trade value by mentioning his name a bunch of times. Maybe we can package him, DW, and Follett (since they’re all busts), in a trade with seattle for Curry and a first rd pick.

That’s me trying to read between the lines… :)

I'm just messing with you Smurf

I’m happy they seem to be high on Brown, I like the potential he shows. I originally thought that (his potential) would prevent us from drafting Best, and was actually hoping for a DB. I wasn’t dissapointed about Best by any means but I was hoping there would be a DB that they were still high on come that 2nd (rd) pick.

I would love to see Best feature a lot of touches and wear down a Defense in a hurry up style O and and then see Brown come in on the next series and get some touches. I think that type of ightning/lightning combination and a little rumblings from Smith could be pretty lethal. But, Brown has still yet to show he can produce in the reg season, here’s to hoping he has come a long way from last season as far as developing goes.

What can Brown do for you?

Or should his moto be: What Brown can do for you! I was infatuated with him after training camp last year and wanted him to get more of a role this year, but now that Best has looked like he’s the man in the backfield, Brown is going to be nothing more than a KR specialist. Too bad to.

How many lumps you want Doc?

by davis0169 on Sep 1, 2010 8:04 AM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, most likely.

It would be nice if he could step up into a bigger role. I’d be pretty happy if we could get someone to excel at that KR/PR role too.

by FMFDOC8404 on Sep 1, 2010 9:12 AM EDT up reply actions

We can always use him in a reverse!

Best split out wide Brown in the backfield, get the whole D screaming one way to close down the sideline and then send the ball the other way @ Mach 2!!!

I believe...
