NFL Roster Cuts 2010: Lions Trade Tyler Polumbus (UPDATED)
UPDATE: Tyler Polumbus was actually traded to the Seahawks rather than outright released.
The deadline for NFL teams to get down to 75 players is at 4 p.m. this afternoon. The Lions now have to make only one more move to get to 75 players, as offensive tackle Tyler Polumbus was released this morning.
Polumbus was just claimed off waivers from Denver last week. In fact, the Lions ended up with Polumbus instead of the Seahawks or Texans, which also claimed him. Thanks to having a higher waiver priority, Detroit got him the first time around, but today they released him.
After the Lions get rid of one more player today, they will have to say goodbye to 22 players on Saturday. The deadline to get down to 53 players is on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Please let it be Eric King
I feel bad hoping someone loses their job, but…
In life, a man is either the hammer or the anvil. Ndamukong Suh is both
Pride of Detroits village idiot
We can hope
But I think we’ll have to wait until the 53 man roster cuts becuase of injuries, Lee Evans needs to look good anyhow for the start of the season!
King will not be cut
The secondary is weak yes but if you have three piles of turd and you have to keep two. You keep the less stinky two of the three.
King can play nickle back relatively well, he simply does not have the ball skills to be a cover corner. We need to pray to the football gods that Houston and Wade do not get injured this year from here on out.
Lions fans deserve better than being the laughing stock of the NFL. Lets all hope they are heading in the right direction finally.

Oops..forgive me
He was placed on the reserved physically unable to perform.
Injured reserved and the p.u.p. are two different things. They still need to cut someone.
Polumbus not released
he was traded to Seahawks. Compensation is still unclear. Some people speculating Leroy Hill. I’m expecting something like a 7th.
