Detroit Lions Fantasy Football Projections
CBSSports.com has fantasy football projections for all of the major positions, so I thought it would be interesting to take a look and what they're predicting Lions players to do this upcoming season. In addition to the stats, there is a "fantasy points" number, but that really only means something in the context of the table ranking all of the players. If you want to check that out, go here.

I see CJ getting about 12 TD's this year
Big time sleeper, not hearing people talking him up much in all the FFB media

4 defensive TDs from the Defense....
I think the Sacks are low
Grew receptions are low
Bests rushing yards are high and catches are low
Staffords TDs and INTs are both low

def grew
I think Pettibeast will out perform scheffler. I think staffs TD are low but 16 INT seems bout right to me. I think K smooths catches are low I think he will see sevral passing down situations as the primary back on 3rd down.

Hanson
They must be thinking Hanson won’t be kicking for the first part of the year, because he only kicks 33 XPs while we score at least 41 TDs, and that’s just on offense. Are we going to go for two that many times? Or are they thinking he will definitely miss time because of the surgery? Or are they off?
USE THE SCHWARTZ!!!
Probably just not consistent with their numbers

Stafford
I hope he can keep his INTs at 16 or less…that would be great. I am not sure he will though, especially since he’s still young and assuming he’s still going to be playing from behind in some of the games inevitably.
USE THE SCHWARTZ!!!
I will be happy if he simply throws less INTs than TDs
if he throwns 25 TDs and 23 INTs… I will be ok with that this year.

409 points allowed
Is only 25.5 per game. That seems like if we van hold true to that we should be able to win almost half our games.

it seems like a huge number and I am sure that CBS saw the same thing, but per game.. thats not Lion awful.

I noticed as well that we scored 21.2 points per game.
There is a mathematical method to estimate our won loss record based on the total points for and against…..which I don’t have time to use so it looks to me like 6-10 is a likely result in that scenario.
I would be happy with a 6-10 record
That shows improvement and suggests the team is competitive far more often than they have been in recent years.

I would be ecstatic with 6-10
But I dont see us winning more than 5. 5-11 sounds about where we will end up. But our secondary will get lit, Rodgers, Cutler, and Favre. Tough times

5-11 does seem like a realistic number
The great thing, there is actually a chance we might win a few games this year unlike years past when one or two wins was most probable.

LL, I can't say I would be ecstatic over 6 and 10....but satisfied? Maybe.
I am really struggling with where I see this team in 2010. I know we have been 2 and 30 the last two years [not to mention 3 and 37 the last two and a half years] but this team and organization seem totally remade to me.
I think the record itself will not tell the whole story. How this team plays, and how individuals play will greatly influence my opinion of where this team is headed.
Stafford’s completion % is about 4 points too high.
Calvin J. could easily have fewer catches for more yards.
N. Burleson could have more than 51 catches.
T. Sheffler could have more catches and yards.
Heller will have more than 4 catches and 30 yards.

oh yeah
13 ints for the team is way too high. Almost one a game. I just don’t see the secondary doing that much damage.

I agree with that
That seemed high.

if the Secondary actually takes 6-9 ints this year
I would be amazed and extremely pleased. one every other game seems much more likely.

Think ints
are about right. Think CBS is looking at increased pressure on QB, which could lead to more INTs and not necessarily by our secondary.
There is more receiving touchdowns than passing...
They have Stafford for 21 TD and Hill for 3 TD but all the WR TE and RB receiving TDS total up to 27 TD. Do we have another QB or something or is Stafford really gonna throw for 26 TD… Just saying if you are gonna make predictions they should be consistent.
Best will also throw for 3 TDs....
lol
These numbers have holes all over the place in relation to one another.

typical and sadly true.

I'd be happy if that ended up being Stafford's numbers
CJ’s aren’t too bad either. Best probably has a few too many rushing yards, and Smith too little. I also think Grew and Schef’s numbers will be pretty close.
Defence has too few sacks and too many INT’s as well.
