Lions got screwed beyond belief!

NBC's analysts said that should've been a touchdown, as did ESPN, NFL Network, and numerous others. It was a colossal screw job handed to us by that one ref. The first ref ruled it a touchdown, that's why Calvin let go of the ball. It was a reaction to his call on the field.

This game wasn't what I had expected anyways. The offense was a bust, the defense made some stands that surprised me, and Stafford got injured in one half of football. That late hit from Urlacher pissed me off even worse than some of the other bonehead plays in the game. It's almost a guarantee that Backus is the reason Stafford got injured. He couldn't handle Peppers and I had a feeling that was going to happen. The turnovers made me pretty happy, as they forced 3 fumbles and picked Cutler off. The defense gave up a few huge plays, but if they weren't on the field so long and the offense actually produced, it wouldn't have looked so bad. This game was ugly from both teams, as most games are in the first week. That Mike Martz offense didn't look so special to me, nor did Cutler. He doesn't strike me as a decisive quarterback who makes clutch plays when it counts. The Bears defense looked very tough, which was alot of the reason our offense couldn't do squat. Bottom line, if that ref didn't screw the Lions with that bogus call, I wouldn't be so mad right now. I wouldn't have cared about the offense or Stafford getting hurt as much. Lovie Smith would've started feeling the heat alot more alot sooner had that ref not give them the game. I just think that they are prolonging the inevitable anyways because the Bears didn't look very impressive to me for a home team against a Lions team who hasn't won on the road in 3 years. They should've lost and next time, when they come to Ford Field, we will get payback for hurting Stafford and getting screwed by that ref.

The defensive line looked strong. Very strong for Detroit. I'm almost certain if we get Stafford back soon that the Lions have a chance to beat the Eagles and be in every game they play this season.

Good job Chicago. You got handed the win this time. You gave your coach and GM some time before they are exposed for the phonies that they really are. This wasn't a very positive statement for your team. You should've lost. Until next time, enjoy it while it lasts because next time we are taking that win right back!
