Even when the Lions first grabbed Lo Jack from Seattle this looked like a good trade to me, I even thought he might be our starter at LDE. A few weeks went by and there was very little info about him at the end of camp, through the preseason, and not much after the week 1 game with Chicago.
With Avril out on Sunday vs. the Eagles Jackson got alot more game time, and I thought he looked pretty good. He had a number of hurries on Vick, and it seemed to me the only real improvement he needed to make was finishing plays. At least twice he should have had sacks on Vick, but either tried to arm tackle him (we all know you can't do that with Vick) or jumped at him and missed. At least it is not like past Lions tackling problems when they actually tried to wrap the guys up properly or put their head down and destroy the guy only to have them get away. Now, I was a disappointed because these are the basics of tackling that he is ignoring, and the plays resulted in gains instead of sacks. Anyway, with a little bit of instilled discipline by the coaching staff I think this can be remedied. I want to know if anyone out there thinks Lo Jack will prove to be a starter for us by the end of the season.
P.S.: This is my first fanpost so if anyone has any feedback on how to make it better I would appreciate it.
