So, the first 2 weeks of this season have come and gone, and I've got a few things on my mind that I'll just toss out here and get some reaction. I check in basically every day but rarely post or comment; some points doubtless have already been made by others...
- Is it me, or is it increasinly looking like both Wade and Brown will be jobless this time next year? I realize Brown's in a hand cast, but still, even when healthy, they gave him the "Can't Cover" monkier. Wade, for his part, let Jackson beat him a couple times and dropped a sure interception in the red zone last week. I'm not sure which I'd call the weak link of the secondary, I dont think I've seen enough yet to say. Better than last year's old guy crew (Henry, Buchanon, White, James) but still, not cutting it, and that's killing us.
-. Chris Houston has great speed, but seriously, Vick barely needed to move to escape him on the corner blitz. What's up with that?
-. Lo-jack and Phonz are both better than I expected. Didn't see much of Phonz. but Jackson was talked about quite a bit. How many more mayhewings before we lose count?
-Follett is better than I thought he'd be. Still not completely where we need him to be, but better than initial reports.
-Cunningham is looking like a keeper; Linehan, on the other hand, seems a bit inept. Bears game, it was the constant line runs with Best, and the lack of blindside protection on Peppers. Eagles game, it was again, the lack of passing until the deficit got to 35-17, and the lack of playaction to set it up. Also, if you're going to run someone up the middle, its gotta be Felton. Why havent we seen him yet? Playcalling seems off.
-What happened to Will Heller? Haven't heard anything of him either.
Well, here's to victory this weekend, and seeing Favre and Childress screaming like a bunch of tween girls at a Justin Bieber concert
