Jahvid Best Reportedly Has Grade Two Turf Toe
Adam Schefter is reporting that Jahvid Best is day-to-day with a grade two turf toe. According to Schefter, Best should be able to play on Sunday against Green Bay "unless (the) pain is unbearable."
What exactly is a grade two turf toe? From Core Performance:
Grade 2: Possible popping sound when the injury occurs; tenderness, moderate swelling, bruising, and loss of motion; partial tear of the capsule and ligaments; no injury to the joint surface
The recovery time for a grade two turf toe, according to Core Performance, can be anywhere from a day to two weeks. The one issue with it is that the injury can linger if it isn't fully recovered, so it may be wise to just sit Best until the Rams game next week. Then again, it will all depend on how Best is feeling, and if he isn't experiencing much pain, I expect to see him against Green Bay on Sunday.

I read somewhere
they would like him to play past the pain.
I have heard of this type of injury being on that does not heal easily. I wonder what the chances are that the injury could be made worse playing?
I would prefer him rest and heal up than see him out there. I don’t doubt his desire to play or toughness. If there is a chance to aggravate the injury, let him rest.
Lions fans deserve better than being the laughing stock of the NFL. Lets all hope they are heading in the right direction finally.
Toe injury won't sideline Lions rookie RB Best for long

I had turf toe before
and you hear it and think, it really can’t be bad but it really sucks. It is painful and can definitely limit your ability to do much movement.
I wouldn’t be shocked if he doesn’t play. He will have a much better training staff than I did considering I taped my own toe when it happened. .
Best rest Best
The loss is coming either way – I say let him have the week off, and be fully recovered.
This could be bad
anytime I hear of Turf Toe, I think of Shaq and his Turf Toe Ordeal.
