Love me some Lions...

Its times like these that I wish i was a better writer. I cant just cant put into words the way I feel after week 3. The lions havent even come close to playing theyre best game in the first three weeks. I dont need to go into all the problems with the roster, everyone knew where we were standing on that issue before the season even started. Mayhew and Schwartz chose youth over just short term fixes at positions. If you keep a veteran here he plays ok, but he is taking game time away from our youth that they could use to improve and develop into a decent player. KVB is obviously exception to the rule and if you cant understand why you can eat a bag of dicks.

So going into the season we all had our magical guesses on how many wins we would get, some high and some low. The general consensus however was that we were still atleast a year removed from being relevant. Then you throw us into a pretty tough schedule, which ya is a shitty excuse, but when we are not a highly talented team with little to no depth the schedule really does not bid well for us. Game one comes down to the wire very exciting game, very watchable and very heartbreaking in the end. We left some plays out there and we looked like the Lions of old at times but what do you expect with a team that had such a huge turnover in the first two years of Mayhew being in charge. We also lose stafford so thats a punch in everyones gut.

Now with all of that happening we have gone out on the gridiron and played ball. we have battled and its exciting to see the improvements where we knew were improved. That gives me hope that the other parts of our team will get the necessary help next year. AGAIN WE ALL KNEW THERE IS NO WAY WE WERE GONNA FIX THIS IN ONE OFFSEASON. But yet people are screaming and kicking like infants who didnt get ice cream. Your defining Schwartz's whole career on weather or not he lobs it to calvin at the end of the first half. Are you fucking kidding me??? You say your sick of hearing that all you need is for your team to get back on track is to face the lions and you want to do fucking madden lobs with a career backup. You take the points and be within a score at half, you stay the course and battle. You can see how close we are... were just not there yet we still give up the big play BUT not constantly like the year before AND we sure as hell don't lay down and take it in the ass.

We create turnovers, our D is 2nd in the league in sacks, we also have a rookie RB who was leading the league in TDs. We couldnt find a turnover in a fuckin bakery last few years. My glass is half full of kool aid, and im loving it.

PS do you think Jim Caldwell could step in and do better than Schwartz. These two guys were handed two completely different situations but i doubt caldwell would bring anything better to the table. I think it takes a bold guy too step into this hell for a head coach, and I believe deep down that when this smoke settle Schwartz will still be at the reigns of a successful football team.
