Lions Notes: Jahvid Best Wins Award For Offensive Rookie Of The Month
- Jahvid Best was named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Month for September.
- If the Lions lose on Sunday, Jim Schwartz will make history for having the worst 20-game start in franchise history.
- Former Lions great Don Doll died on Wednesday at the age of 84.
- The Lions had four wide receivers in for a workout on Tuesday. Two of them weren't named, but Troy Williamson and Dexter Jackson were noted as attending.
- Vikings defensive tackle Pat Williams said that the Lions "tried to cheap-shot" Minnesota this past Sunday, alleging that Detroit players "use hands to the face and were pulling us down." He added: "I hate when guys act tough when they ain't tough."
- When asked about the fight in the Vikings game, Shaun Hill said that "we are not going to be anybody's punk out there." Jared Allen, who already proclaimed how much he hates Detroit, basically called Shaun Hill and quarterbacks in general his "little brother" because of how he can't actually go after them in a fight.
- Louis Delmas was wired for sound for the Eagles game.
- Speaking of Delmas, he hasn't heard from the NFL yet about his supposed obscene gesture in the Vikings game and had this to say about it:
"Yeah, I saw it," Delmas said when asked about the picture. "That wasn't me, and if it was, that was my pointer finger."
You can clearly see that the jersey says "Delmas" and the number is 26, so it was definitely him. As for which finger it was, I guess that depends on how you look at the picture. To me it looks like a middle finger, but I guess it will only matter if the NFL decides to fine him.
- Stefan Logan has been practicing a bit at running back with Aaron Brown (he apparently has a broken hand) and Jahvid Best injured.
- Corey Williams wants to get the ball from his interception on Sunday autographed by Brett Favre.
- The Lions have lost 22 straight road games, 13 straight games at the Vikings and 19 straight games at the Packers. Oh, and the Lions have also never won a game on the road against Brett Favre. Awesome.
- After Sunday, the Lions will have had five different quarterbacks in the five games they've played against the Packers since Aaron Rodgers has been their starter.
- The 18-game NFL season was a done deal. Then it wasn't. And now we're back to the NFL and NFLPA simply negotiating it. The addition of two more regular season games seems inevitable, but I still don't like it.
- Kevin Jones is the latest former Lion to sign with a UFL team.

Bringing in WRs for workouts
I wonder if Nate is further behind than they are letting on?
Lions fans deserve better than being the laughing stock of the NFL. Lets all hope they are heading in the right direction finally.
They're just gathering a short list of players to sign in case of a serious injury

haha he's a funny guy
he is definitely flipping someone off. but i don’t know why he would admit anything if it meant him getting fined.

Let me re-quote this, because it's so awesome
“Yeah, I saw it,” Delmas said when asked about the picture. “That wasn’t me, and if it was, that was my pointer finger.”
He didn’t necessarily say it was his index finger either. I point with my middle finger too (not really), If he gets fined, take them to court, like the “performance enhanced (formally known as Williams) Wall.”
If you can't spell practise write, then dont repond!
Congrats to Best
He deserves it, and he’s been a tad injured as well.
RIP Robyn Bailey 1961 - 2010. I love you mum.
