NFL Roster Cuts: Lions Release Eric King
Per Chris McCosky at the Detnews.com, cornerback Eric King has been released from the Detroit Lions.
I think this will make many Lions fans happy as King had a rough preseason. I'll be honest, I was a little surprised by this move as I thought he was set as the starting nickel corner. My guess is that Dre' Bly will now fill that role and that the Gronkowski-Smith trade made King expendable.
It is now past the league deadline of 6pm, so we should get the "official" list of cuts from the Lions soon.

Lions just announced that they won’t release their cuts until 8 p.m. … Don’t ask me why ..

King lost his job people
Yeah we were basically all calling for his head on a stick but at the least he worked his tail off for us.
The arrival of smith obviously made him expendable.
Good luck king, i hope you find a fresh start with another team and find your place in the NFL. Just not in the NFC North or I will set Suh loose on you.

Actually
I hope King does catch on in the NFC North. Stafford could pick on him all game twice a year!
In life, a man is either the hammer or the anvil. Ndamukong Suh is both
Pride of Detroits village idiot
Smith was the upgrade at backup nickle and is probably our nickle of the future, see ya King
Ndamukong Suh - Bringing 60's football back to Motown!

he could very well be our starter.

The beginning of the end of the misery
I just want a couple "get in your face and make you earn it" type CB
they would make that D line 100 times more potent.

King was a hard worker. . .
just a little short in the talent department. . .i am glad our talent is improving to the point where we can start to dump some of our depth players. . .
I am just glad to see...
Glad to see that the Lions are making the hard decisions and cutting guys that they know and have ties with. The only time you should be understanding as a coach is when a player is recovering from an injury. Even then, you gotta have a limit.
