Lions Practice Squad Taking Shape
The Lions can add eight players to their practice squad, and so far five have been signed (that we know about):
WR Tim Toone
WR Mike Moore
DT Robert Callaway
LB Caleb Campbell
CB Paul Pratt
All five of those players were released by the Lions yesterday. I would imagine the final three spots, assuming the Lions use them, will include players they released yesterday as well, although free agents that weren't on the team and weren't picked up off waivers can also be signed to the practice squad.
An official announcement about the practice squad will likely be made in the next 24 hours.

The lions always get hit hard by injuries
They need to reconsider next off season

Everyone knows Madden is god when it comes to real football!

I look for the Lions to add 2 OL and a RB to the practice squad
and DE Chima in the Canadien bonus spot.
I thought being lazy was a bad thing, So I gave up thinking.
LOL
seriously. We can have a good rb
that we can train up in our system
on the ps squad or draft a rb in the 3rd or 4th round
They will give K Smooth at least 3 or 4 more weeks.
I’m sure that he will get better over the next few games.
I’m suprised Morris is still with us.
Now that " your " Paul Pratt did make the team,
did the cigar fund take a direct hit ? If so, replacement donations should be sent where ?

Ahhh I think they run zone blocking so maybe not a good fit for us anyways
Ndamukong Suh - Bringing 60's football back to Motown!
Some players i would like Detroit take a look at for the PS.
Herman Johnson
Cory Reamer
Javarris James
Brandon James
Larry Asante
Jamar Wall
Myron Rolle
Blair White
Andre Brown
Selvish Capers
Jonathan Crompton
Can we stop talking about releasing Smitty and Hanson now....
Good List
I would also like to see. Cody Brown-OLB and Kraig Urbik-OG
if the shoe fits...get another one just like it - George Carlin
I had him as being signed and playing but your right Cody should be on the PS first.
Can we stop talking about releasing Smitty and Hanson now....
Javarris James
I like this kid he could be that short yardage back we haven’t had in years.
Can we stop talking about releasing Smitty and Hanson now....
Rolle already signed with the Titans' PS
Pride of Detroit, for Lions fans | SB Nation Detroit, for Detroit-area sports fans
That sucks
During the draft I was hoping we would pick him up, hes a smart enough guy and a good enough athlete that he should eventually see playing time in the NFL
Detroit Lions = Super Bowl Champs in 2013... Only thing that could stop is a possible world appocalypse the year before
Titans are going to PS Rolle, and they play a similar defense, so we can just let him sit there and poach him any time we need.

Don't know if that's accurate
Childress said earlier they have no interest in Housh.

Ndamukong Suh - Bringing 60's football back to Motown!
I think this is what you were talking about Sean
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?id=2552&sport=NFL
Coach Brad Childress confirmed Sunday that the Vikings have no intentions of signing free agent T.J. Houshmandzadeh at this time.
Minnesota is believed to be Houshmandzadeh’s landing spot of choice, but the team isn’t going to bring him in before Week 1, if they do at all. Housh needs to start seriously considering Washington. If he signed with the Skins today, he could probably enter the starting lineup before Sunday’s opener.

My " z " button is freaky
If I go to a thread it doesn’t work but if a new comment is posted while I’m in that thread it starts working some thing every thread I go to.
I thought being lazy was a bad thing, So I gave up thinking.
I've had problems with the Z button the last couple weeks,
I took Sean’s advice and e-mailed the support team at SBNation. We went back and forth for about a week, but they have had no luck fixing it. I don’t think it is my computer cause the Z button works on all other SBNation sites ( Bless you Boys, ect.)
So here is what I did, and it might help you too…. I downloaded Google Chrome and I use that as my exclusive browser for POD. This solved the Z button problem instantly. In addition I’m really impressed with Chrome, it take a little getting use to, cause all I have ever used is Internet Explorer. But It is no joke man, those commercials were real. It is fast as f#ck.
Google Chrome is a really nice lightweight browwser

This guy is still young, wonder if he is worth giving a shot?
2008 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person
Stanford Keglar, OLB, Purdue
Stanford Keglar has had a solid, but unspectacular career at Purdue. The 2007 Boilermaker Co-Captain finished the season with 70 tackles (4 tackles for loss) and 3 passes broken up in coverage. One of the issues scouts are going to have with Keglar is his lack of production, given his athleticism. He is a big outside linebacker at 6’2" and 247 lbs. Keglar also possess remarkable speed for his size, but was often burnt in coverage and rarely got to the quarterback on blitzes throughout his career. His numbers during his 4 years at Purdue are solid. He tallied 250 tackles (13 tackles for loss), only 1.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, and 5 passes broken up in coverage. He showed improvement over his career in college, but not at the rate his coaches would have hoped for. Keglar’s athletic ability will lead someone to draft him in the late rounds. He should be a good special teams contributor and with time and coaching could develop into a starting linebacker in the NFL.
Stanford Keglar attended the 2008 East-West Shrine Game. He played well, but didn’t particularly stand out amongst the linebackers. This would have been a good opportunity to showcase his play making skills, but as usual, he put on a lackluster performance. Keglar should hear his name called between rounds 5 and 7.
Stanford Keglar raised his stock by leaps and bounds at the NFL Combine. Keglar scored toward the top of every event in Indianapolis. He ran a 4.58 40 yard dash and finished the 20 yard shuttle in just 3.98 seconds. Keglar also hoisted 29 reps on the bench press. Keglar is a bigger 4-3 outside linebacker, but showed he has the speed to play at the NFL level. Keglar was a late fifth or sixth round pick before the Combine, but now could go as early as the end of round four.
Stanford Keglar is yet another Purdue University prospect who continues to look better every time he steps on the field. Keglar improved his impressive combine 40 time by running a 4.55 40 yard dash. He also registered a 39 inch vertical leap. Keglar has solidified himself as a late fourth or early fifth rounder.

Lions fans deserve better than being the laughing stock of the NFL. Lets all hope they are heading in the right direction finally.
Campbell, Toone, and Pratt to the Practice Squad doesn't surprise me.
Campbell has been out of football for two years, he needs to get fully back into it.
Schwartz said that Toone could be the next fan-favorite, like Follett, so it doesn’t surprise me that they kept him around.
Pratt probably would’ve gotten cut if it wasn’t for the interception in the Buffalo game, so he likely impressed the coaches in that play, and if they would’ve had the room, he would’ve likely made the roster at the bottom.
We picked up Stefan Logan from the Steelers

The skinny
Logan was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers to compete for a roster spot as a return specialist. Logan finished the 2009 preseason with 5 kickoff returns for 185 yards and 9 punt returns for 191 yards and a touchdown. He also had 2 carries for 27 yards on reverses. Logan was rewarded for his performance with a spot on the 53-man roster. In 2009, he broke the Steelers single-season record for return yards. On September 4, 2010, Logan was released by the Steelers.
