The Lions announced their official practice squad earlier today. Seven players are on it, leaving one spot open if the Lions want to add another body at some point. Here are the seven practice-squad players:

so who is the Lyndon Murtha this season
I am afraid Caleb or Toone will get snatched off are squad early.
I had a dream were the Lions let me sign a 1 day contract they let me practice with them running drills and catching passes from Matt…At the end of the day I was called into Mayhews office. I was told I had just been traded to seattle for a 5th round draft pick.
Toone isn't going anywhere.
His talent level and draft position leveled out.

I dont think you have too much to worry about.
Toone: Dropped several passes and showed us nothing special on returns.
Campbell: Though he shows promise he is still very raw and more importantly he is committed legally to the Army.
In order for another team to take one of our practice squad guys they have to put him on their 53 man roster. I just don’t think Toone shows enough to warrant that over someone like a Dennis Northcutt. Because he already passed waivers it means no one wants to take him and invest in him as a future player. Therefore he will only get looks as other teams get an injured receiver, and Northcutt is a better option for a short term fix. Especially since after week 1 contracts are not guaranteed. They could bring in a guy like Northcutt that already understands the NFL game, and can catch some of the passes thrown at him for 3-4 games then cut him as soon as their other receiver regains their health.
With Caleb I think the Army stuff just complicates it too much for other teams. It is why no one else drafted him to begin with. If Caleb succeeds in Detroit he just may change that culture of thinking in the NFL. Good thing for us though that he will be locked on our roster before any other team takes a chance like we did.

What, no DeDe ?
Despite the hands of stone, another RB might not hurt. You know, someone will get hurt, it’s inevitable. Plan B would be a safety prospect.

He's not eligible

Thanks, Sean.
Didn’t realize he was such an old dude. Looking back, I see he was a C.F.A. for Cincinnati back in 2006…

1 spot open?????
I wonder if Mayhew has his eye on a player the Jets, Texans , or Ravens may release after signing the Vets.
I thought being lazy was a bad thing, So I gave up thinking.
he has some nice speed and athleticism, but needs to learn the NFL game
He is also a tweener that could be a LB or DE depending on how they wanted to develop him.
