This isn't a mock or any type of break down of draft philosophy but i just want you all to imagine this with me. We draft Mark Ingram give him the number 20 jersey. Who else would be worthy of wearing this jersey? A heisman winner a player many consider the next Emitt Smith.

Some may say that no one can replace Barry Sanders and every last person who says that is correct. To me it isn't about that. It is about a great player donning OUR teams most LEGEDARY of mantels. Number 20 means alot to the Detroit Lions. It is like carrying our flag into battle...our symble that there is greatness in Detroit brand of football...our tradition of excellence. This number helps us to identify with every era of excitement and greatness here....Lem Barney....Billy Sims.... Barry Sanders. A era of respect, of Monday Night Football for the Lions, of highlights on espn of Detroit players making meaningful plays. Often this Jersey lead that charge.

Number 20 has always been given to a young player a rookie. And each time it was the start of something big. Can you imagine that number on the field again? On Ford Field scoring TD's and making plays? This Jersey to me is Detroits Mantel of excellence...our Neo....our chosen one....our Jedi knight. This feeling that has followed us with this era of failure is coming to a end. Would it NOT be ONLY right that if the Lions are going to be winners. A team of destiny....to raise our flag ship?....to raise our winning traditional battle dress...to ignore the cures and ghosts of Bobby Lane and wear our Beacon of hope on the field?

I am not even talking about Mark Ingram guys. I am talking about number 20. It isn't just a number. I am asking you to imagine that Jersey on Ford Field doing what it has always done for Detroit... A Lion tradition! Its only right that as we go into the playoffs with that number 20 is right along with us....Not only in honor of the ones before...but to allow us as fans...the players...the team to embody that feeling...that winning spirit..that feeling that makes you feel "you know what guys things are going to be alright." We can do this..we can win it all::)

As a fan i just wanted to share that with you because it made me get Chills...and who knows who would wear Number 20....but somehow i kinda think It could be Ingram.
