Back to the defense, this will be the last post for the Detroit Lions 2011 then i will give it a day and tally up the votes and let you know who was the fan favorite, so if you havent voted do that soon.

Cornerback is a intresting position for the Lions they got pretty good play from them this year and are very young in that area. Chris Houston, Nathan Vasher and Brandon McDonald are all FA. I think that Houston was the best corner we had this year he didn't make the flashy plays like Smith but he was solid all year. Vasher actually came in and played pretty good as well he wasn't as good as Houston or Smith but dependable. There are some pretty big names hitting FA this year like Nnamdi Asomugha, Johnathan Joseph, Richard Marshall, Kelly Jennings, Brandon Carr and Eric Wright who are all solid corners in the league.

Safety seems to be locked up in the D with Delmas and Spievey. I was against drafting Spievey but he did grow on me towards the end of the year and actually start playing better and looked more comfortable. CC Brown and John Wendle are both FA and again Detroit is very young at the safety position. There are some intresting names hitting FA at the safety position like Eric Weddle, Michael Huff, Tom Zbikowski, Abram Elam, Eric Smith and Melvin Bullitt.

I would like to see Houston resigned ASAP and Wendle as well, as for Vasher, McDonald and Brown i can live without. I like the S situation we have but would like Detroit to add some who would push Spievey like Weddle or Smith who would both be awesome on ST as well. I think Detroit will draft a cb but still would love to see Marshall signed over any other cb listed.

As always free feel to comment or ignore.
