I wanted to know what you guys thought of the Chris Carter interview with Calvin Johnson last night on MNF. (If you caught it). Sorry but I can't find a clip of the interview to post. I thought that the interview only solidifies the fact that Carter just doesn't get it. He must be more oblivious to the rules of journalism and common sense then I originally thought. I was expecting him to perhaps praise Calvin for the absolutely DOMINATING season he's having and the fact that his immense talents are on full display on Sundays. I thought he might apologize or at the very least admit that Calvin has (this season) proven him WRONG! He failed to meet the standard of reasonable at every turn.
Instead, he proceeded to ask Calvin, "How did my comments make you feel?", and " I didn't think you have shown in the past that you were elite." He tried to justify his original comments like an absolute idiot. He claimed that he "watched tape" (which I find to be BS) and he saw Calvin routinely shut down in games with single coverage. That's why he didn't think Calvin was in the Top 6 in the league. Calvin hasn't seen single coverage since his rookie year, and even then it didn't take long for him to see the safety over the top helping out the corners. This is a guy who has the most TD's in the league since 2008.... that's 3 years. Carter needs to get fired. He's just not very smart. ESPN gave him a perfect opportunity to save face but he just didn't seem to get the memo. Chris Carter... you are an embarrassment to your whole profession... and human beings everywhere.
