The Detroit Lions made a change to their practice squad on Wednesday. Defensive tackle Corvey Irvin was released, and linebacker Aaron Lavarias was signed.
Irvin joined the Lions practice squad shortly after the final round of NFL roster cuts. At first some thought he might have been signed to the active roster, but he was simply an addition to the practice squad.
Lavarias entered the NFL this year as an undrafted free agent out of Idaho. He spent time with the New England Patriots before being let go, and now he is headed to Detroit to join the Lions.
In other practice squad news, former Lions wide receiver Tim Toone has signed with the Buffalo Bills practice squad. He was let go by the Lions during the final round of cuts and brought back a few weeks later as a member of the practice squad. One week after returning to Detroit, he was released, and now he is with the Bills.
