49ers' Anthony Davis Provides Season's Worth Of Bulletin Board Material On Twitter

Following his team's win over the Lions on Sunday, 49ers offensive tackle Anthony Davis posted a couple of vulgar tweets about the game. He also got into it with Lions defensive end Cliff Avril on Twitter after apparently getting into it with him on the field during the game.

Davis deleted all of the tweets he posted, but that doesn't mean they are completely erased. Below is a rundown of screen caps of the tweets and a recap of the exchange with Avril:

Avril responded to Davis' tweets by posting this:

@AnthonyDavis76 lol that's real professional homie... Well meet again and see what's up

Davis proceeded to post (and later delete) the following two tweets:

Davis3_medium

Davis4_medium

Avril came back at Davis by saying, "yea u tough on twitter Bruh." He also tweeted this:

Ima grown man I don't need to talk trash to anybody on twitter... I beef with no one on twitter...
Oct 16 via TwittelatorFavoriteRetweetReply

Lions defensive end Lawrence Jackson summed up the situation by tweeting this:

Example of a fake twitter gangster: @AnthonyDavis76 the classic tweet and delete move...GROW UP HOMEBOY...
Oct 16 via Twitter for iPhoneFavoriteRetweetReply

I really hope the Lions get to see the 49ers again in the playoffs, because you can bet these tweets will be put on the bulletin board. Heck, they might even go up on the bulletin board even if the Lions don't play the 49ers again. Jim Schwartz could probably use them as motivation regardless of the Lions' opponent considering how much vitriol they were filled with.

Wow

Of all the teams I would have expected to end up on the Lions shit list I would never have thought it would be the Niners.

They seemed to have a tradition of being a classy organization through and through.

Wrong Josh

depends on where we finish year in and year out, we both finished 3rd in division last year, hence we played this year

by SanDiegoMick on Oct 16, 2011 8:08 PM EDT up reply actions

So

When they finish 1st in their weak ass division and we finish 2nd in the toughest division in football, we will not be playing again next year.

Like I said, it is something like once in every 4 years.

When you take to twitter (aka online newspaper), and just randomly start calling ppl out that is trash talk. We trash talk to I’m sure. Schwartz did it to Rob Ryan in the presser after Dallas and everyone ate it up. Imagine Ryan was pissed as hell. Obviously wouldn’t blame Dallas for being livid. Sorry Mick but you are wrong there.

Gore carried the ball fifteen times., and caught two passes. Jahvid carried the ball twelve times and caught six passes. He had more touches than Gore.

Calvin had seven catches and a few more thrown in his direction. That is pretty good as far as I am concerned.

My 2011 Lions season prediction: 12 wins and 4 losses. I made this prediction the week after the New England preseason game. It's looking a little pessimistic right now.

My problems are with both sides of hte ball

You can’t have that many 3&outs or give up close to 130 yards on just 15 carries. Ask the Bears how that worked out. If the Niners weren’t shooting themselves in the foot with penalties, the game wouldn’t have been as close as it was

We had big penalties too

Grew tripped over his own damn feet in the endzone with a easy td right there. The penalty on the big play to Nate before the half. Titus FS’s down in the redzone. Missed field goal that gave them great position to take the lead. They weren’t blowing us away by any means.

Oh, I guess I missed something.

Which game was it again that Schwartz used profanity during the coaches handshake at the end of the game?

I’m sure there are many examples in order to justify your use of “usually he’s the one doing it” I just can’t really think of when Schwartz did that to another coach during the handshake. Hmmm.

So yeah, can you just tell me the 3 or 4 or 5 games he did that in you are referring to that might be a reason for using “usually”? Cause for some reason all the handshakes I can remember previous to Harbaugh, have been respectful on both sides…

He's sworn at officials & opposing players for sure

He may have sworn in the coaches handshake, too. There’s no transcript of those. Schwartz may have said “Hell of a game” to Fraizer or something like that. You seem to be narrowing it down to a situation where there’s no way to say if he’s sworn or not. Was Harbaugh disrespectful to Schwartz? Probably. Has Schwartz been disrespectful to others? Absolutely. Pulling this “shrinking violet” act after hearing a profane word is quite hypocritical. Are there rules against swearing in a coaches handshake? Maybe he should take his own advice & “learn the fucking rules.”

I don’t have a problem with Schwartz’s fist pumps & loose language on the sidelines, but his offense at something that seems relatively minor is a little baffling.

by Wiedmann on Oct 17, 2011 2:03 PM EDT up reply actions

oh. So we're comparing behavior on your own sidelines during a game to behavior during the post game handshake, huh??

C’mon. That’s retarded.
Behavior on the sideline is %1000 different than that during the handshake. Swearing on the sideline is accepted if not expected. (Especially when the refs are so unfamiliar with the rules that they are saying a game wasn’t over when it was.) I admit I haven’t watched a lot of 49ers football this year, but I think assuming Harbaugh doesn’t do that at all is a bit naive.

The whole point of the post-game handshake, however, is to give respect. THAT IS WHY THEY DO IT! Harbaugh rubbed it in Schwartz’s face. Not “probably” as you say. Definitely. If you think it is “baffling” why Schwartz would take offense to that, you are either having trouble being objective, you are lying, or you’re a freakin’ monk. ’Cause I took offense to it and I am just “some guy”.

Also I think you might want to rephrase some of your statement. Despite your use of it, I don’t think you understand what the example of a “shrinking violet” suggests. If Schwartz were pulling a “shrinking violet act” you would’ve seen him hang his head, do nothing, and we’d be talking about something else right now. Schwartz was a bit more reactionary than that.

Also what does this mean?

Are there rules against swearing in a coaches handshake? Maybe he should take his own advice & "learn the fucking rules."

Are you trying to suggest that Schwartz swore at Harbaugh and that’s what caused Harbaugh to do what he did?? Are you saying Schwartz swore and Harbaugh didn’t?? Honestly, did you see the video? That’s not what happened, guy.

Actually, that seems like more of a sad attempt by you to show that Schwartz has used profanity in the past, albeit in a totally unrelated situation. If it wasn’t a sad attempt by you to relate things that are unrelated, I honestly don’t understand it’s relevance as it was, like I’ve said, an entirely different situation.

"Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live it's whole life believing that it is stupid"

by UndaDawg on Oct 17, 2011 3:35 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm saying that it's hardly the first time Schwartz heard profanity.

Using the word “retarded” is also very politically incorrect, by the way.

The whole point of the post-game handshake, however, is to give respect. THAT IS WHY THEY DO IT! Harbaugh rubbed it in Schwartz’s face. Not "probably" as you say. Definitely. If you think it is "baffling" why Schwartz would take offense to that, you are either having trouble being objective, you are lying, or you’re a freakin’ monk. ’Cause I took offense to it and I am just "some guy".

You don’t know what Harbaugh said. He did not necessarily rub it in his face. Like I said, “probably.” Unless you have some sort of definitive proof of what Harbaugh said, by all means present it. Until then, I’m firmly in the “probably” camp (and that’s giving Schwartz the benefit of the doubt). Yes, the coaches’ handshake is to show respect. How is chasing someone down, looking ready for a fight even remotely resembling respect? Are you really trying to argue that Schwartz behaved appropriately?

“Shrinking violet” is how I felt he behaved in the post-game press conference (certainly not how he behaved on the field), when he complained about profanity being used. He was clearly using it himself in that situation, maybe he wasn’t the first to use it, but he did use it. Kind of kills the whole “coaches handshake is a place to show respect” argument.

I am saying none of those things you are suggesting. I’m saying there’s no rules against Harbaugh coming up to Schwartz, and saying “Nice game, dickhead; way to blow it, motherfucker.” Now, there’s traditions & decorum levels that go along with how coaches treat each other which make that sort of thing unacceptable, but those same unwritten rules say it’s not okay to run after another coach, looking for a showdown. I really don’t see how you can think that what Schwartz did was right, unless, of course, you’re “having trouble being objective.” (Laughable that you think I’m the one with biases, when you’re the Lions fan. I hate the Pac-10, never liked Harbaugh or Stanford, and have the Lions as my 2nd favorite NFC team.)

Note I am certainly not saying Harbaugh was in the right, I’m just saying Schwartz was in the wrong for the way he behaved. Part of the reason I’m upset about his behavior is how it reflects on him & the Lions. You’re going to get ESPN & sports radio talking about how Schwartz & the Lions don’t know how to handle themselves & their new-found success, and bring up the last decade & say how they’re still affected by that.

Our secondary still worries me a little. Megatron had me terrified all day, especially when Stafford threw downfield. Had to hold my breath.

Needless to say, I don’t think we could hold him scoreless again.

But it's not the 50 players that aren't saying shit that get noticed

It’s the few players that are saying something. When you thought of some recent Bengals, you think of Chad Ochocinco and his antics, don’t you? He’s just one player but everything he did seemed to characterize our team. Well, him, and the fact that we had 8 players arrested in ‘06. For what it’s worth, I think both coaches are in the wrong, but neither as much as Davis. That twitter feed was completely classless. I didn’t think there was much in terms of a shove, just a tough pat on the back. Harbaugh was acting pretty smug, but there’s no excuse for chasing him down, especially with the “but he swore!” gripe (talk about hypocrisy). Both guys are pretty fiery, so, I’m not surprised this happened. I don’t blame either of them, but they both could certainly have dealt with the situation better.

I get the thing about the players.

Not about the coach. He is in his first year with a team playing WAY ahead of what people thought, and won a super close game on the road against an undefeated team.

Besides, coaches get excited, even after beating a bad team it seems:

I really wish A. Davis had kept his mouth shut

there was no need to go talk trash on twitter. I may disagree with you guys on the Harbaugh/Schwartz thing but Davis was way out of line

by Andrew9erfan on Oct 16, 2011 8:54 PM EDT reply actions

I agree

I’ll give you all that Davis was dumb, but I still don’t see what Harbaugh did that was so bad. Handled it differently? Sure. Worth being chased and nearly fought over? No way.

That was Pride fucking with Jim Schwartz. I mean, look what it did to Butch Coolidge. He killed that guy.

We aren't acting any better

We cheered the Mayhew pioli bullshit. Now we whine about this. Hope losing doesn’t become a habit.

No offense, but the Vikings really aren’t that great with McNabb as QB…

Scared of the Bears?

Serously? They still have Jay Cutler at QB, right?

No way

Forte is a much better player on offense, and there’s a bunch of guys on the D who are better.

Yeah, those guys are old

they’re still better than Cutler right now. 2-3 years from now, sure, but not now..

and do you mean that as an insult to Forte? The guy is leading the NFL in scrimmage yards.

Jahvid had over 100 yards from scrimmage today.

He showed what he can do when someone blocks against the Bears. He’s got the stuff to be a pro bowl caliber player. He’s got the same measurables as Chris Johnson and you see CJ2K looks more like CJ800 because he’s not getting the same calibur of run blocking. I don’t see how him saying Forte is a bigger Best is an insult.

That's what I think

but the way he presented it as proof that Cutler was better…?

take the good with the bad

The Schwartz does celebrate after wins, no not like this. Let’s face it, we play with a chip on our shoulders nothing bad with it. we’re just going to make opponents mad. Let’s use this as motivation and hush up these niner trollers
