Ladies and Gentlemen, today we played like shit. Now, we can whine and mope about Stafford's inconsistency, call for a run game, or demand a trade for a bruiser back. We can decry the play calling, gripe about the refs, bitch and moan about the lack of sportsmanship of the other team. We can freak out, worry if we'll win another game this season, and berate our O-line.
Or we can shut up and move forward. That's what winners do. There's a reason only 2 teams have ever gone undefeated in the regular season. Shit happens. We played complacent football, and we lost.
Now how do we respond? I mean us as fans, and as a team. We can linger on this loss, and how we let it get away... or we can bounce back and take it to the next team. That's what winners do. Losses define a championship team more than wins. Wins are easy. Wins are happy times. To forge the sharpest blade, you've got to put the steel to the fire, expose the flaws, and hammer them out. How you manage to trudge through muck and shit and come out of the other end is what defines you.
No excuses. None. A championship team doesn't cry and moan about what they don't have. Instead, they play to their strengths and find ways to win with what they do have. And that's what we need to do now. Enough about the 49'ers. That game has been played. It's over. We lost. Time to focus on the Atlanta Falcons. Time to get back to winning. We do a disservice to our young team by being negative and moping. We as fans now have a responsibility to carry ourselves like a fan base that's used to winning. We have to help our team pick themselves up off the dirt, and push them forward to greatness.
Champions don't make excuses. On to the next one.
