Trade talks between Oakland and Detroit?
ALLsportsINTEL Rich Smith
BREAKING NFL UPDATE – Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions talking trade for QB Shaun Hill, heard it here first, will keep updating. reported 10hrs ago
ALLsportsINTEL Rich Smith
If any player were to be moved by the Oakland Raiders to make the trade for Shaun Hill, Michael Bush makes the most sense with Best injury. reported 7 hrs ago.
Very Interesting... I Don't know if this will happen though.. What are your thoughts?

I'm fine with trading Shaun Hill
I feel enough confidence in Staff and Stanton if something were to happen to Matt.
They seem a bit desperate for a qb to start so I say leave with nothing less than a player and mid round draft pick.

This would be an outstanding move for both teams IMO. IF Staff stays healthy.
Although I don’t like the idea of playing against Shaun later this year.
Hopefully, Mayhew can add a draft choice for the Lions into the deal.
But really, I don’t see the Lions doing this unless the injury news on Jahvid is a lot worse than we know.
My 2011 Lions season prediction: 12 wins and 4 losses. I made this prediction the week after the New England preseason game. It's looking a little pessimistic right now.
Seriously ???
We don’t need a rb, we need a line that can open holes for one. All you guys that want a new rb would be bitching at how bad he sucked so why trade a nice backup for another guy to get stuffed behind line scrimmage 80% of the time.
If Shaun hill goes we are getting oline, cb, or lb. or just straight up draft picks but I don’t think raiders have many left for us to want. So player and late rd pick might happen but no micheal bush please

Steven I agree with you of course regarding getting another RB,,but there's rumors out there the Best is going on the IR.
Where’s Aaron Brown?
For a concussion?

I'm trying to remember where I seen it this morning.
It was rumor stage still, but it is his 2nd one this season, and the Lions will deny it but he played with it during the game and couldn’t remember blocking assignments. The announcers were saying he just stood there as a backer went right on by.
Bleacher Report is running stories about that

Totally disagree
New on this site but Lions fan my whole life.
Javid has talent and probably a lot of potential, but you cannot completely blame his lack of performance on the oline. With all the injuries and setbacks hes faced, I don’t the hes been able to get enough experience to build up confidence in himself as an explosive runner. And the way things look right now, I’m not sure he ever will (concussions are just going to come easier and easier, and can seriously affect him in the long-term which is very unfortunate).
But there are plenty of backs out there who get it done without an oline. Look at Forte and AP. Granted they are two of the best out there but they dont have an outstanding oline. I think Best has just never settled in, and dont know that he will be able to.
I'd disagree.
Last year we didn’t see much development because of him being injured all year, but this year he’s been showing a great amount of maturity and patience.

With this
Shaun Hill isn’t going anywhere. No other team is looking for a starting qb because Miami doesn’t care about losing right now.

Most likely
The funny part is they assume he’s going to be a huge superstar. I’m not saying I don’t think he will be but it’s just a little risky to just let that be your goal.

Matt Moore actually played really well last night....
Revis’s 99yd TD was bogus and was caused by blatant interference.
Another TD pass was dropped by Marshall in the endzone.
http://twitter.com/#!/rumbulls
Marshall has dropped more passes than Bryant Johnson and derrick Williams combined.
It’s a shame, too. He had Revis cold a few times.
Moore is not a terrible QB.
And there is no one available that can get them into the playoffs IMO. No sense mortgaging your future for nothing.
The Raiders are in a different situation. They have an excellent shot at the playoffs this year.
My 2011 Lions season prediction: 12 wins and 4 losses. I made this prediction the week after the New England preseason game. It's looking a little pessimistic right now.
3 way trade!!!!
Shaun Hill and Bush and a #1 Oakland draft pick goes to CLE…. Lions get Hillis and a 7th from CLE, and Oakland gets Palmer….
Win, Win, WIn!
(Full on speculation… do not repeat to the bleacher report)
http://twitter.com/#!/rumbulls
Wow, Raiders got Mayhewed by the Bengals
1st round pick in 2012 and conditional 1st round pick in 2013. At worst they get a 1st and 2nd round pick for Carson Palmer who’s been an average QB the last 3 years.
Yeah, Cincy made out HUGE.
Next year they can pick BPA regardless of position and get a great player. I love this move from their side. They got rid of a guy they have zero plans to use for 2 real high picks.

Palmer is a "FRANCHISE QB"...
with a good 4-6 years left in the tank….
I think the trade is good for both sides.
http://twitter.com/#!/rumbulls
Eh...
I don’t think so. Ask any Bengals fan how well Carson has played the last two-three years, and their answer will be “not so great”. Carson used to be a Franchise QB, but injuries have decimated his arm strength, and now he’s merely above-average.
PFFFFFFFFFFFFFT
My bet is… Palmer has a HUGE resurgence in the league over in the black hole.
http://twitter.com/#!/rumbulls
He might
he very well may have been playing like shit the last couple of years because he wants out of Cincy, and maybe a return to the West Coast will rejuvenate him. I don’t know. But I do know that based on the way he’s played the last couple of years, in additon to his age and injury history, that the odds of that happening aren’t very good.
Carson hasn't been the same sense his knee got blowin up
If they can get the old Carson it was worth it perhaps. To much IMO for the way Palmer has played most recently

I'm thinking more Rich Gannon or Hostetler....
Not in throwing styles, but scenario…. both were tossed by teams and both found success in the black hole.
http://twitter.com/#!/rumbulls
I don't think Delusional meant Kerry Collins as an insult to Carson.
Between the age of 29-33 Kerry Collins threw for over 14,000 yards.

I understand...
Just adding past QB’s who found light in the black hole.
http://twitter.com/#!/rumbulls
A change of scenery will probably help Palmer, but 1 and possibly 2 1st rounders for him?
Did Al leave it in his will that the team had to make one more dumb trade or what?

Agreed.
That is pretty steep, especially considering the Bengals had no leverage.

That is one nice trade by the Bengals.
Looks like the Raiders are going all in this year and next.

Yeah, the Bengals got a spectacular deal
That’s what happens when desperate teams go looking for a player. No matter what, Palmer wasn’t going to be a Bengal anymore. Cinci would have been fortunate to get a 2nd for him, but a first and another conditional first!?!?!?! They are going to put together one tough team in the coming seasons.
Yes, I really am that great.
No matter what, Palmer wasn’t going to be a Bengal anymoreidiot fucking raiders

If we got that haul for Hill I'd be for it
but Hill doesn’t seem like the strong armed QB they like in Oakland
so I didn’t think it’ll happen

Props to the Bengals
seriously, I take back all of the nasty shit I’ve said about Mike Brown, because he just pulled a robbery on the Raiders.
This is probably even a bigger steal then the Roy Williams trade. I really don’t get it from the Raiders point of view: I understand you’re trying to salvage the season, but is it worth mortgaging your future? Coughing up a first and second round pick for an aging, expensive QB who’s barely an improvement over Jason Campell makes little to no sense to me.
I understand why the Raiders would want Palmer, but I can’t for the life of me understand why they’re willing to give up so much for him. Insanity.
especially in middle of the season
Hue must have the same offensive playbook – language
or maybe he’s secretly been working with Raiders the whole time

They just got Palmer, no trade for Hill.

Just read on PFT:
Jason La Canfora of NFL.com reports that the Eagles have made it known Asante Samuel is available. Samuel was also available in August, and no deal happened.
The report indicates the Eagles are looking for veteran defensive players in the front seven rather than draft picks.
Hmm… maybe we could send them something like SLH and a low-round draft pick? Don’t think they’d bite on that though.
I'd rather have DRC.
Asante doesn’t fit our scheme.
"You've got to respect your opponent, no matter who it is. You respect him best by going out there and beating him up." - Calvin Johnson
Shhhhhh......
Don’t mention the Lions trading for Samuel around these here parts……… you’ll get sniped. Hehehehe…..
i'd take asante.
SLH low round pick for Asante and 2nd round pick… this wont happen but at this point SLH is a better player in a position of greater need for the eagles and greater impact in general than asante.

Ronnie Brown on the way..bye bye Harrison

by davebirkett
Lions are working a trade for Ronnie Brown with Philly, sending them Jerome Harrison and a 7th round pick
Here's the Brown interview
“Ronnie, can you run into the back of a o lineman?”
“Sure, I can do that stuff”
Okay, we may trade for you then.
and
“Ronnie, will you promise not to pitch it back blindly after running into the back of your o lineman?
“Sure, I got that out of my system”
