Lions Sign Matt Clapp To Practice Squad
Just a day after adding running back James Davis to the practice squad, the Detroit Lions placed him on the practice squad injured list. This means a spot opened up on the practice squad, and the Lions decided to fill it with a familiar name.
Clapp was let go during the final round of NFL roster cuts. By then it was clear the Lions had no use for a fullback in the offense, so it was no surprise he was released. Perhaps now that he's on the practice squad the Lions will give some consideration to using a fullback again in the future. If not, then perhaps Clapp will at the very least help the Lions prepare for teams that do still utilize a fullback.

Practice vs. Ovie Mughelli

Hope that is not true about Harrison
I know another young guy with an inoperable brain tumor. Sad news.
It is true. Confirmed by ESPN.
Apparently the trade and resulting physical may actually save his life. Now he’ll be getting treatment.
No slogans. Just win!!!
Wow... appears that this trade offer came from higher up than Mayhew.

They should try to utilize this guy
As big as he is, I know they don’t deploy the fb position, but maybe use him like a h-back and give MoMo some more room to breath and chip some guys for Staff, couldn’t hurt.
The Lions offense is going Air-Coryell on defenses, which might be outta neccessity, but I want more 2te sets, more h-back, and less shotgun 3-wide, 4-wide sets. Its going to kill Staff, this o-line is decent but not great. We have to mix it up better.
I played the Falcon on all-madden in Madden 12 twice. I used the trick plays offense which is mostly pass plays and lost 23-13. I couldn’t do much once the Falcon adjusted. Then I tried it again using the balanced playbook and I won 30-20. It was incredible, I used a lot of 2te sets, single back playaction passes with a lot of misdirection and screens. MoMo looked like a star back, he was catching passes and running through Atlanta’s defense.
So, I’m convinced if the Lions use more 2te or 3te sets to run, more quick passes, and less shotgun 3 or 4 wide, I think it will not only protect Staff, but help the running game as well. We can beat Atlanta, but not with the shotgun 70% of the game. Defenses just key in on Staff too much and we need more protection and blockers.

LenDale White and Brian Westbrook.
Both guys are beasts still and punishing running backs.
